Among Us’ Jester Mod Explained (What It Is & Why It’s Fun)

Mods are becoming a huge part of Among Us, with fans creating all sorts of new and interesting ways to play the game. Adding roles into Among Us is especially popular, as people play the game with Sheriffs, Vigilantes, Doctors, and more. The Jester mod is a little different from those because it doesn’t really help crewmates. Instead, the Jester is all about adding more mystery and mayhem into the game.

Most role mods in Among Us seem to favor the crewmates. Doctors can revive fallen allies, and Sheriffs and Vigilantes can shoot the Impostor. The game itself is skewed more toward Impostors winning, which is why Imposters are randomized, so the Jester role is pretty unique in that it doesn’t really help either side. Instead, the Jester is only concerned with winning the game themselves.

After installing the Jester mod in Among Us, one player is randomly assigned the role. The Jester’s sole purpose is to get ejected from the map. If crewmates eject the Jester, then the Jester wins the game. If the Impostor kills the Jester, or if the Jester is never ejected from the game, then they lose. In order to win, Jesters will need to act suspicious without making it seem like they intentionally want to get ejected. It’s a balancing act that can make Among Us even more intense and chaotic.

Why The Jester Role In Among Us Is So Fun

The Jester mod is so much fun because no one ever knows what to expect. Crewmates have to decide if a suspicious person is really the Impostor or a clever Jester trying to get ejected. It adds a fun dash of mayhem to every game, and it’s a great way to keep everyone on their toes.

The Jester role is very similar to the same role found in Town of Salem, a popular social deduction game from 2014. In fact, many of the roles added into Among Us by modders seem inspired from this game. Social deduction games are built on deception, and the Jester role perfectly embodies that ideal. In order to win the game, the Jester has to fool everyone – or, at least, the majority of players – so being able to lie and deceive is especially important.

The Jester mod is Among Us is great, and it adds an extra bit of mystery and mayhem to a game that’s already pretty mysterious and chaotic. Although modders continue adding in more roles to the game, the Jester mod will surely remain one of the best role mods in Among Us.
