Since its meteoric rise in popularity last year, Among Us has become one of the most popular video games of all time. Because of this, crossovers are highly likely. Given how many other famous video games have gotten the Monopoly treatment in recent years, an Among Us Monopoly Edition is probably inevitable at this point. Here’s why.

An Among Us crossover with Fall Guys is already happening, and it’s likely only the beginning. Among Us is popular and profitable enough that other companies are probably wanting to get in on the action, too. One of the more realistic possibilities is for an Among Us edition of Monopoly. The long-running board game has editions for a number of popular video game series, including Mario Kart and The Legend of Zelda. Among Us would make a great candidate for the next video game-themed edition release of Monopoly.

A board game version of Among Us just makes sense, and it’s something fans have talked about for a while. A fan-made board game of the Skeld map brings Among Us‘ mechanics to the tabletop. Although it’s still a work in progress, the board game illustrates just how well Among Us versions of Monopoly and Clue could work.

Why Among Us Board Games Make A Lot Of Sense

From a business standpoint, an Among Us edition of Monopoly just makes sense. It’s a marketable property and many fans would probably buy the game simply for collector purposes. However, the inevitability of Among Us Monopoly goes beyond just commercial reasons. The Among Us crewmates are perfect for pieces to move around the game board, the various rooms would be ideal for properties, and Monopoly‘s Jail could very well be translated into an “Ejected!” area.

Developer InnerSloth has a lot of official Among Us merch at its online store, including shirts, mugs, and totes. There’s also the Artist Alley, a place where fan-made merch is sold through the developer’s official online store. This is where fans have created Among Us dice, perfect for tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons. There’s a great chance that even if an official Among Us edition of Monopoly doesn’t release, some form of a board game will appear here eventually. And if that doesn’t happen, then a fan-made version of the board game will surely appear online at some point.

Given the popularity of Among Us and video game-themed editions of Monopoly, this seems like a no-brainer. Among Us would transalte pretty well onto a game board, and it makes a lot of sense from a business standpoint. Because of this, an Among Us edition of Monopoly is probably inevitable now.
