A bakery in South Korea was spotted selling cakes based on Among Us. The cakes are sold at “Tous Les Jours” bakeries, a chain with locations all through Pacific and Southeast Asia. It’s possible that the collaboration is official on developer Innersloth’s part.

While Among Us was released in 2018, it wasn’t until 2020 that the game truly took off. The simple social deduction game blew up in popularity, with high-profile figures such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez playing the title on Twitch. Fan art, memes, and merchandise began to crop up as the game’s player count skyrocketed. Limited Run Games eventually released a special collector’s edition of the game, featuring a working emergency meeting button.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The cake was spotted by Reddit user mrkillercow. Their photo shows the window display of the bakery, which has been adorned with the crewmates from Among Us. In the center is the cake itself, decorated to look like a red Impostor popping out of a vent. Cutouts recreate the “Shhhh!” icon shown at the start of each round, where players are told their role as either crewmate or Impostor. Another photo shows crewmate cookie or chocolate pops.

According to Tous Les Jours’ website, the cake has a chocolate ganache filling and “crunchy chocolate balls” throughout. The exterior is a red mirror glaze. The bakery also lists another Among Us cake, dubbed the “Big Chocolate Bowl.” It is a chocolate cookie sandwich with hazelnut and chocolate cream, crunchy chocolate coating, and crispy crewmate cookies as decoration.

The original post has gained 1.8k upvotes at the time of publication. Many fans in the comments are debating the legality of this cake, since Among Us ripoffs are commonplace. Given that a trademark mentioning Innersloth can be seen in one of the pictures, it appears as if the cakes are legit. However, there has been no word from the developers if this is the case. Mrkillercow does mention that the Among Us promotion is only for a limited time, although they do not know when it ends.

Plenty of other fans have attempted making Among Us cakes, but most are homemade attempts. This, on the other hand, could be the first official edible collaboration for the game. If it is, there is a chance it could appear at other Tous Les Jours locations, including those in the United States. If it’s not, it could mean a world of trouble for the bakery chain. Tous Les Jours may not seem suspicious, but if there’s one thing Among Us has taught fans, it’s to always look out for Impostors.

Among Us is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.
