There is a superweapon that could make a huge impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase Four, and it’s in the wrong hands. The Yaka Arrow is a whistle-controlled arrow that is made from extremely sharp Centurian metal and directed through a specific range of sonic frequencies. With a skilled enough user, the arrow is especially dangerous. The weapon is remarkably fast and deceptively powerful, able to take out dozens of enemies in a matter of seconds or even tear through the hull of a spaceship.

As seen in Guardians of the Galaxy & Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (which had the opposite problem as Eternals)Yondu Udonta (Michael Rooker) has long been the sole owner of the Yaka Arrow. It was his weapon of choice, and he used it to lead his faction of Ravagers to many prosperous opportunities. Yondu sacrificed his life to save his adopted son, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), which left the Yaka Arrow temporarily without a master. That was until Peter gifted the arrow to Yondu’s second in command: Kraglin Obfonteri (Sean Gunn).

Kraglin having possession of the Yaka Arrow could be very dangerous for the MCU’s heroes, and more specifically, the heroes of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. While Kraglin is not the evilest of the Ravagers, he doesn’t have the same cunning that Yondu had. Kraglin has the ideal amount of loyalty for a supervillain to take advantage of, making him a perfect henchman. It is entirely possible that a villain like the High Evolutionary could manipulate Kraglin, or even take the Yaka Arrow from him entirely.

Along with having a strict code, Yondu was smart enough to know when to use the Yaka Arrow. To propel the arrow, the wielder needs an extensive amount of skill and training. Kraglin has neither, and he could misuse the arrow due to this inexperience. With the lethality that comes with the Yaka Arrow, this could be dangerous even for Kraglin’s allies. While Kraglin currently seems to be on good terms with Quill and the Guardians, he has inadvertently caused problems in the past when he has felt mistreated.

However, it could be far worse if Kraglin fell under the influence of a more powerful villain. Kraglin seems to lack certain wits, as well as powerful fighting capabilities. Either through trickery or force, the Yaka Arrow could easily be removed from Kraglin’s possession. With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 going in a darker direction, it would make sense for such an intimidating weapon to be at the antagonist’s disposal. It would be more difficult for the Yaka Arrow to be used against the heroes if it was in the hands of a more reliable character.

James Gunn, the director for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, has hinted that Kraglin will have a larger role in the upcoming film. Whether this is due to Kraglin’s possession of the Yaka Arrow has yet to be revealed, along with what side the Ravagers will be fighting for. While much of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has gravitated towards flashier weapons like Mjolnir, Stormbreaker, and now the likes of the Ebony Blade, the Yaka Arrow may make a surprising impact. In the hands of Kraglin, that impact may be disastrous.
