HBO Max releases the trailer for And Just Like That…, which previews the Sex and the City reboot. During the late ‘90s, Candace Bushnell’s Sex and the City novel was scooped by up show creator Darren Star to become a groundbreaking, award-winning, legendary series for HBO. Starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall, the series centers on four friends — Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha — as they navigate life and love in New York City.

Earlier this year, HBO Max revealed that a Sex and the City reboot, titled And Just Like That…, was in the works, sans Cattrall’s Samantha Jones. Helmed by Michael Patrick King, the new installment of Sex and the City will feature the return of characters from the original series and introduce a fresh batch of diverse cast members. Recently, HBO Max unveiled the first look at And Just Like That…, which reunited Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte as they embark on a new decade of their lives. Now, the trailer for And Just Like That… takes a closer look at the highly-anticipated revival series.

However, since the reboot emphasizes navigating major life changes, Carrie’s arc could involve Carrie and Big experiencing turmoil in their marriage, or Carrie being thrust back into the dating world after Mr. Big passes away. And Just Like That… continues to keep viewers guessing on major plot details and how Samantha’s absence will be addressed.

Overall, Sex and the City was considered revolutionary for opening up conversations about sexuality, friendship, and female independence. While the trailer shows familiar faces from the original series, it’s the new cast members, Ramirez, Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, and Karen Pittman, that seem to elevate the story of relationships, careers, and love in New York City. It’ll be interesting to see what will become of Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda in the next installment of Sex and the City.
