Animal Crossing 2.0: Every New Shop At Harv’s Island Market

Animal Crossing: New Horizons launches the 2.0 update on November 5, 2021, and Harv’s island is getting new residents, activities, and vendors for players to interact with. Previously, Harv’s island had limited functionality that allowed players to add new furniture to their catalog, customize items, and pose for photos in Harv’s studio, Photopia. With only a few available features, there hasn’t been much reason to visit Harv’s island outside of events that called for themed photos. With the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update, players can expect to make more frequent trips in order to reach some of the game’s new and existing vendors that will offer items, styles, and customizations.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0, Harv is looking to enlist Harriet’s help in order to create a plaza with new shops on his island. Players can donate bells to individual shops to quickly get them up and running. If players speak to one of the Lloid characters around the plaza, they will be offered a description of the type of vendor looking to move into that spot. After the shops are funded, the vendors will set up campers, tents, and small tables that display their goods but don’t overcrowd the island.

Adding the open market gives players a variety of reasons to visit Harv’s island, but there may be too much coming to this area all at once. Going back and forth to the island every day to customize furniture, collect new hairstyles, or purchase real artwork from Redd’s could get tedious after a while. However, having the vendors in a permanent location outweighs any downsides that come with having to travel each time players want to visit them. Prior to this update, most of the vendors would scarcely visit a player’s island. The new market also adds vendors previously unseen in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Harv’s Island Shops – Harriet

Harriet was previously unavailable as an NPC in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Her amiibo card could only be used on Harv’s island to obtain her poster, but she wouldn’t come into the game for photos. Now, Harriet is helping Harv renovate his island and get the open market up and running. Her shop can be visited to change the player’s hairstyle, and she can even give brand new haircuts. The New Horizons 2.0 update will bring new hairstyles for players to collect from Harriet and try out. Once the hairstyle is obtained, it will be available to use or change in a mirror or vanity.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Harv’s Island Shops – Saharah

In the current version of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Saharah has a random chance each day of visiting the player’s island. Having her as a permanent vendor on Harv’s island will allow players to purchase new rugs, wallpaper, and flooring more frequently. Saharah sells small, medium, and large rugs, and buying them will give players tickets that can be exchanged for a mystery item. It isn’t confirmed if the ticket system will still be in place for her as a vendor on Harv’s island.

Access to Saharah’s wallpaper is especially useful because the 2.0 update will give players more freedom in decorating their homes. Instead of applying wallpaper to a room, the Pro Design License will let players put wallpaper up on individual walls, giving them more customization options. This new update adds value to purchasing wallpapers from Saharah.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Harv’s Island Shops – Tortimer

Tortimer is an NPC from previous Animal Crossing games and acted as the mayor of the town. In New Leaf, he retired to his own island. On Harv’s island, Tortimer will let players access their storage to deposit or withdraw items without having to leave the island. This will allow players to stay on Harv’s island longer, as well as access their items without having to fill their inventory slot. It’s currently unknown if he will serve any other purpose as a vendor.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Harv’s Island Shops – Reese & Cyrus

Customizing furniture in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a big part of building a unique, personalized home. However, there are some items that can’t be customized at a DIY workbench. Reese and Cyrus are coming to Harv’s island to change that. After getting their shop started, players will be able to customize a whole new set of furniture items that were previously static.

Since its launch, Animal Crossing: New Horizon players have asked for more customization options. Combining this new ability with Tortimer’s function will let players easily personalize all of their furniture pieces without having to travel back and forth. Once all the items are customized, players can return to their island and spend some time setting up a unique and diverse home.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Harv’s Island Shops – Leif

Leif sells shrubs and flower seeds but appears randomly in the plaza of a player’s island. Leif will also buy weeds for a higher price than players get at Nook’s Cranny. The addition of Leif to the open market can make it easier for players to get more bells quickly. Collecting weeds around their island or the mystery islands they travel to, and selling them for 20 bells each, can help players build up their bell count.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Harv’s Island Shops – Kicks

In the current edition of the game, Kicks appears randomly in the plaza after the Able Sisters clothing store is established. Kicks sells a variety of shoes, socks, and bags, and will be a permanent member of the open market on Harv’s island. In the 2.0 update to Animal Crossing: New Horizon customized outfits will be easier to obtain with Kicks’ inventory always available.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Harv’s Island Shops – Redd

Appearing randomly during the week, Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘ Redd is a shady art dealer that sells both real and fake artwork. The real ones can be donated to the museum, but fakes are identified and refused by Blathers. Players can tell the difference between real and fake works of art by closely examining a piece and comparing it to its real-world counterpart.

Redd’s permanent residence on Harv’s island lets players quickly increase their art collection at the museum. Instead of waiting for his ship to dock on their island, players can visit him each day and find a new genuine work of art. Unfortunately, completing the art collection doesn’t offer any rewards at this time, but it does add an aesthetic appeal to the museum.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 Harv’s Island Shops – Katrina

Katrina is a new addition to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In previous titles, Katrina could read a player’s fortune daily, which gave certain effects to the player. Fortunes can be positive or negative and are given randomly for a fee. Katrina has been known to give effects like increasing how much Villagers like a player, increasing the amount of bells players find, and causing Villagers to avoid the player.

The additions to Harv’s island will make it a hot spot for those looking for new experiences, items, and activities. Every NPC’s shop will be available to fund once the update launches on November 5. Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update is adding an overwhelming amount of content, and Harv’s island updates are only a small part of this massive game expansion.
