Players of Animal Crossing: New Horizons have discovered that Nook’s Cranny will be holding a Black Friday sale beginning later this month, coinciding with real-world Black Friday sales. New Horizons hasn’t held an in-game Black Friday sale prior to this year, but the event has been added as part of the recent Animal Crossing 2.0 update, and should see players save lots of Bells on their favorite items.

Animal Crossing‘s recent 2.0 update has added lots of features to the game, many of which are still being discovered. While Nintendo offered a breakdown of the new content during October’s Nintendo Direct, it seems there are plenty more features and quality-of-life improvements the company didn’t announce. These include storage features, such as the ability to store DIY recipes, as well as some of the features that NPCs now offer, including a weeding service from Leif and a friendship blessing from Katrina. Along with new gameplay, the 2.0 update has vastly improved the game’s catalog of items, with more than 9,000 new items added to Animal Crossing.

Players who time travel in Animal Crossing have discovered that the Nook’s Cranny Black Friday sale, known as “Nook Friday,” is scheduled to happen later this month, running from November 26 to November 30 (via NintendoLife). During this time, players will find discounts of 30 percent across items sold in Nook’s Cranny, which could potentially mean some big-Bell savings for higher-ticket items. As the event isn’t time-locked, those who’ve fully expanded Nook’s Cranny should be able to time travel to the Black Friday sale (by changing the date on their Nintendo Switch system) to see what goodies will be on sale in their individual shops. The sale extends to cabinet items (including flowers, tools, and the new Turkey Day Recipes DIY), but doesn’t appear to apply to the Happy Home Paradise store.

The Black Friday sale should be a win for those struggling to keep up with all the new expenses the Animal Crossing update has introduced. Players had been complaining of a lack of ways to spend their Bells prior to the new content, but the update has introduced lots of new opportunities for users to spend their cash. On Harv’s Island, unlocking vendors will set players back 100,000 Bells per NPC, while customizing items with Reese and Cyrus can also cost up to four figures per item. Boosting friendship ratings with villagers through Katrina is definitely not cheap at 10,000 Bells per villager, while stocking up on new plantable items from Leif will also rack up the costs. The Nook’s Cranny sale couldn’t come at a better time, offering some savings for thrifty players.

Unfortunately for those hoping to use the Black Friday sale to secure the biggest bargains, players will be at the mercy of the game, which will randomly decide which items can be found in Nook’s Cranny on the days of the sale. Those looking for specific discounted items can check social media to see if anyone has them in their Nook’s Cranny and might be willing to let players visit their island to take advantage. With lots of new Animal Crossing items, there’s a high chance fans won’t find what they’re looking for during Black Friday, but hopefully, there will be some bargains to be had.
