It’s almost a new month, and fans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons can look forward to a few new creatures creeping and crawling around their islands. Because of the real-time game mechanics, the seasons shift for players in the game just the same as they do in the real world. In the Northern hemisphere, autumn is just beginning, while in the Southern hemisphere, spring has arrived. For the Northern hemisphere, this means very few new bugs as the days grow colder and darker, while the Southern hemisphere will start to see plenty more.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

There are 80 species of bug in the game so far for players to catch. They can make quite a few bells for doing so, or continue to build their Museum collection. During October, there is only one new bug players can begin to catch in the Northern hemisphere and ten in the Southern hemisphere. Here are all five new bugs coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons on October 1.

Many bugs are leaving the Northern hemisphere at the end of October, so players should be sure to catch them before they’re gone. Besides the Ladybug, these include:

  • Yellow Butterfly
  • Bell Cricket
  • Red Dragonfly
  • Darner Dragonfly
  • Stinkbug
  • Man-faced Stink bug
