April 2022 features new sets of Bugs, Fish, and Seasonal items for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players to collect. Every month, the natural inhabitants of the island are swapped out for new creatures to collect. With April leaning more into Spring, there are a ton of special events happening throughout the month to celebrate. This includes the upcoming Cherry-Blossom season from April 1st to April 10th when Cherry Blossoms will begin to appear on the player’s island. It’s important to know what creatures are spawning in April in case any remaining spaces in the Critterpedia need to be completed.

While it is possible to time-travel in Animal Crossing: New Horizons by changing the time in the system settings, many players enjoy playing the game through the natural process of time. It does take a while for fruit to grow and structures to be built, but it’s all about doing smaller tasks throughout the day that begin to add up. For the upcoming April events, it’s important to participate when they are active. Once the event concludes, the event-exclusive items and materials will disappear along with it and because of this, holiday items are amongst the rarest in the game.

The first major event to kickoff April in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is Bunny Day. Taking place from March 28th to April 4th, players will be able to collect Bunny Day-themed items by collecting eggs that appear from the map. These items have their own crafting recipes that can be unlocked from water bottles or floating balloons. The Bunny Day designs aren’t really the greatest, but they can be sold for additional Bells at Nook and Cranny.

Other Seasonal Events in April

  • Fishing Tourney: This will take place on April 10th from 9 am to 6 pm local time and will reward players with trophies depending on how they perform.
  • April Fools Day: March 26th to April 1st: Players can purchase a whoopee cushion item from the Nook Shopping app.
  • Sinimogi: April 1st to April 10th: This is a South Korean holiday that celebrates the return of Spring. Players can purchase the Forsythia plant from the Nook Shopping App.
  • Nature Day: April 15th to April 22nd: Players can collect a special globe item during this time period.

Out of all of these events, players should focus on participating in the Cherry Blossom event. With Cherry Blossoms flooding the player’s island, the materials that are rewarded can be used to make some neat items. Cherry Blossom flooring has become a popular item amongst players and requires a hefty amount of Cherry Blossoms to craft. Cherry Blossom recipes can still be used after the event is over, but the materials will no longer appear in the wild. Horde as many of them as possible and try to collect every item on this list before they are removed for May’s monthly content.
