An artist and fan of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has recently shared their personally modeled and 3D printed sculpture of Lloid the Gyroid, which actually gyrates just as it does in the game when a villager approaches it. After the highly praised 2.0 update of Animal Crossing: New Horizons added a multitude of Gyroids, players were eager to add these lovable dancing figurines to their islands and homes. One player even used a customizable Gyroid to re-create a popular online meme. However, fans of Animal Crossing who have played since the release of the Wii title, Animal Crossing: City Folk, will recognize Lloid the Gyroid as one of the most beloved Gyroids and a staple of the franchise.

Lloid is perhaps best known for its upbeat dancing and celebration as players choose to donate their hard-earned bells to add infrastructure to the landscape such as inclines and bridges. While Lloid is always polite and chipper, players may also note that he can be a tad dramatic if you choose not to donate any bells during your conversation. After the 2.0 update, players were eager to add the charm and wit of Gyroids, such as Lloid, to their carefully constructed islands. Nintendo has now made it even easier for players to find new Gyroids in a recent update.

Redditor monkeynicaud has now shared their own passion project, showing their love for the charming Lloid. Using their own model, monkeynicaud has successfully 3D printed their very own personal Lloid, who can actually gyrate and dance. This figure also features the ability to have its arms twisted up and down as it does in the game when players donate their bells. Sitting on top of its head is Lloid’s iconic builders’ hat. This is not the first time an Animal Crossing fan has created a 3D figure of a beloved character. During the seasonal months, one fan created their own Jingle amiibo.

The attention to detail is stunning and has many fans wishing for their own dancing Lloid to be featured in their physical homes. Fortunately for those lucky enough to have access to a 3D printer, monkeynicaud has kindly shared their model with the public and has also offered to share these documents with players who directly DM them. However, players without access to a 3D printer may still find their own creative ways to incorporate these beloved dancing figures in their homes such as this fan did when creating a clay Gyroid.

Similar to the popular Animal Crossing character Brewster, players have been eager to collect all Gyroids since they became available in November of 2021 with the 2.0 update. Perhaps after the popularity that monkeynicaud’s Lloid the Gyroid has gained, future 3D printed Gyroids will be created, and perhaps Nintendo itself will consider selling licensed Gyroid merchandise. For now, however, most players of Animal Crossing: New Horizons will have to be content decorating their digital islands with their favorite musical and dancing gyroids.
