Animal Crossing: How to Unlock New Hairstyles (Update 2.0)

There are a few different ways for players to get new hairstyles in Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0. The update was recently released and features a myriad of new, free content for players to discover and experience. One of the many additions to customization is the ability to collect and equip new, diverse hairstyles.

Before the 2.0 update, there were 37 hairstyles available in Animal Crossing: New Horizons for players to unlock and utilize. Some of them can be purchased with Nook Miles, and others are unlocked by buying a mirror. The Bedhead hairstyle is the only one that is awarded to players for inactivity. The 2.0 update adds a total of 11 new hairstyles that are obtained through two separate methods.

The first and easiest way to unlock new hairstyles is to buy the new hair pack from the Nook Stop in the Town Hall. Players can redeem Nook Miles to purchase four new haircuts, including a loose side-braid look, that are delivered immediately. The new styles can then be equipped with a mirror or vanity. Each new hairstyle has the same colors available, and players can experiment with different headgear that changes or covers their hair. The other way to obtain some of the new hairstyles is to visit Harriet’s Salon, a new NPC shop on Harv’s island.

Unlocking New Hairstyles in Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0

To find Harriet and visit her salon for new hairstyles, players will need to go to the new and improved Harv’s island. First, go to the Dodo Airport and speak to Orville. Choose the option to fly, then select Harv’s island as the destination. Upon arrival, Wilbur will note that Harv isn’t there to greet the player and that there’s a new path to travel on.

When players walk up the new path, they’ll find Harv and Harriet, the pink poodle, having a conversation. The player can speak to them to find out that Harriet is there to help Harv execute his vision of a large open market on his island. He wants to invite some of Animal Crossing‘s NPCs to open shops on the island, but he needs the player’s help to finance this endeavor. After players agree to help, they will be able to invest in a variety of shops such as Katrina’s fortune-telling and Redd’s art shop. After the first day, players can go back to Harv’s island to find Harriet’s salon open.

Once a day, players can sit in Harriet’s chair and get a haircut. She will give players a brand new style each day for seven days until every one of the new haircuts is obtained. Along with Harriet’s salon, players also have new hairstyles available at the Nook Stop. There are a total of 11 new hairstyles to enjoy and customize in Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0.
