One of the new features available in Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 is the Pro Decorating License and the new customization options that come with it. Obtaining this new Nook Stop item will allow players to accent walls and add depth to their homes by hanging lighting fixtures. The increase in interior customization allows players to further express their style.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 focuses heavily on customization with the addition of new items, access to new shops, and the ability to buy and use the Pro Decorating License. Certain furniture that was previously unavailable to customize can now be changed at a new shop on Harv’s island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Players can change the style and color of lighting fixtures at the new shop and hang them after acquiring the Pro Decorating License.

Having the ability to create custom homes in Animal Crossing games, as well as a variety of expressive rooms, has been a constant throughout the series. Players can now use the Pro Decorating License to gain the freedom to accent one wall per room as well as hang eligible items, like lighting fixtures, from the ceiling. The license can be obtained by visiting the Nook Stop inside the Resident Services building.

Acquiring the Pro Decorating License in Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0

For those looking to get their Pro Decorating License, a total of 2,500 Nook Miles are needed. Miles can be obtained by completing challenges listed on players’ phones in the Nook Miles+ app in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. After gathering enough miles by finishing tasks like talking to neighbors or picking weeds, players can visit the Nook Stop and Redeem the Pro Decorating License.

The license will be delivered immediately upon purchase, then players can use it right away. Each room in a player’s home can have one accent wall, which means it can have a different wallpaper pattern than the other three walls. Players can choose which one to customize by focusing the camera on their chosen wall, then choosing the wallpaper, and applying it as an accent rather than placing it as regular wallpaper.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0’s Pro Decorating License also lets players hang lights from the ceiling. In the house editing mode, players can now cycle through the floor, walls, and ceiling to add decorations. If an item is ineligible, it will have a small symbol that indicates which region of the house it can be placed in. The Pro Decorating License gives players a unique way to customize their homes and add depth to every room in Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0.
