An industrious Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has managed to construct an impressive ocean-side water park just in time for summer. The most recent entry in Nintendo’s social simulation series recently celebrated its one-year anniversary and its popularity continues to remain strong in its second year.

As Animal Crossing: New Horizons gets further from its release date, players seem to be finding new ways to push the boundaries of what can be done in the game. Often times this takes the form of clever and impressive recreations from other notable intellectual properties, but sometimes it can be an exploited bug or unintentional gameplay mechanic. One of the more recent bugs that Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have used to their benefit is the newly discovered pool glitch which allows them to sit in constructed bodies of water that are normally inaccessible. Coincidently that particular glitch was discovered just before summer and now one player, in particular, can use it to great effect with their latest creation.

Reddit user moni_acnh posted a series of images showing off their newly constructed ocean-side water park. Three water slides make up the centerpiece of the park and they lead directly into the ocean. Along with these are two pools, one inflatable and one in-ground, as well as a pair of colorful life rafts, a surfboard, and many other touches of decor that complete the aesthetic. Moni_acnh’s photos also showcase some of the island residents putting the park to good use.

Even though Animal Crossing: New Horizons was around last summer, the player base was not nearly as adept with the gameplay mechanics as it is now. The level of impressiveness with some of the latest in-game creations seems directly correlated to the amount of experience dedicated players have accumulated. With the Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘s islands possibly expanding in the near future, it appears fans will have even more to work with in order to push creative boundaries even further.

In-game creations such as moni_acnh’s ocean-side water park have, in a way, become a sub-genre of fan art. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is just one of a few current titles that allow this unique art style to flourish in ways that were not so common a few years prior. As gaming technology continues to improve, there is a strong likelihood that more titles will feature canvases that have similar potential to the one players start out with in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The only question is if a similarly dedicated player base will arise around those yet to be made games.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available on Nintendo Switch.
