A player of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has shared a look at their out-of-this-world observatory, designed for the star-loving NPC Celeste. Celeste is a fan-favorite ACNH character, with her cute design, useful DIY recipes, and surprise island visits making her one of the most popular non-playable characters in the game.

Celeste has been a part of the longstanding Nintendo series since 2005’s Animal Crossing: Wild World, though her role has changed over the years. In Wild World, Celeste could be found in the observatory, where players could stargaze alongside her, while in New Leaf, she opened a gift shop on the second floor of the museum. In New Horizons, Celeste is one of the handful of rotating NPCs that can appear on players’ islands. Celeste can be found at night, where she’ll comment on the stars and give players some of the most highly sought-after DIY recipes in Animal Crossing, such as the Moon.

Animal Crossing fan embeecrossing took to Twitter to share her stunning custom observatory for Celeste, capturing the perfect moment when the owl explored the build herself. The creator’s design uses a number of the November 2.0 update items, including the Gazebo, as well as some of the pieces from the Castle range. Decorated with star fragments and captured at night, the finished look is out of this world, and Celeste certainly seems appreciative of the impressive observatory design.

The 2.0 base game update and subsequent Happy Home Paradise DLC have added lots of new items to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, giving fans more creative freedom than ever before. Prior to the update, creating realistic walled areas and old stone buildings was mostly impossible, with users needing to find workarounds using custom designs and items like the Simple Panel. Thanks to the update, there’s been a surge of new and creative ACNH builds that are no longer dependent on quick fixes and stand-ins for items once unavailable in the game.

embeecrossing’s magical Animal Crossing observatory hasn’t just impressed Celeste, with the post seeing over 3,000 Likes on Twitter as fans marvel over its design. While many are still hoping that Celeste might still get her own official island observatory, it seems unlikely at this point, with Nintendo confirming no more big updates for ACNH. However, thanks to the creativity of players, fans can make their own custom observatory – and perhaps even catch Celeste’s reaction to it.
