For villager Eugene’s vacation home, an Animal Crossing: New Horizons player basically designed Frasier‘s iconic apartment. The ability to design vacation homes for villagers arrived earlier this month in the Happy Home Paradise paid expansion. As New Horizons‘ first and only paid DLC release, Happy Home Paradise brings scores of new content to the best-selling Nintendo Switch title.

The core premise of the DLC is rather simple – players must design dream vacation homes for inhabitants on the island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. To take part in the Sims-like experience, users leave the island on behalf of the Paradise Planning Team and land on a resort archipelago where villagers contemplate what they desire in a designated getaway home. Players then gain access to a litany of custmoization options upon determining what would constitue the best fit for one of the animals’ dream houses. Unsurprisingly, members of the ACNH community have built creative homes at the resort; however, one Frasier-inspired design warrants special attention.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Redditor pecheykeen recently shared screenshots of the vacation home they built for Eugene, the koala villager whose smugness hasn’t gone unnotice since his introduction in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Pecheykeen’s interior design skills resulted in a home for Eugene that’s closely modeled after the pricey Seattle apartment Frasier Crane inhabitated in the popular sitcom Frasier. Everything from the glossly black grand piano to the floor-to-ceiling windows appear in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons recreation. Even Frasier’s out-of-place recliner, which sits in the living room, is represented by an equally mismatched chair in Eugene’s new living space. See screenshots of the full design in the following images:

It’s an impressive build to say the least, one that will likely inspire other players to push the Happy Home Paradise content to its limits in terms of creativity. As such, who can say for sure what users may come up with next when inspiration strikes?

Happy Home Paradise and the Version 2.0 patch that accompanied it serve as the last major updates that Nintendo has planned for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The remains mum about its next plans for the franchise, but a direct sequel to ACNH doesn’t sound too farfetched, especially when taking the title’s immense success into consideration. Nintendo’s September 30, 2021 sales update showed the game closing in on 35 million units sold.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available to play now on Nintendo Switch.
