With how customizable and freeform Animal Crossing: New Horizons is, it comes as no surprise that players can mold their island down to the villagers that live there. Comic book and superhero fans will be pleased to know that there is a whole series of masked crusader-type island residents that fit the theme of crimefighters in disguise in either their personality, outfits, or home decor. Aside from the series of superhero-specific villagers, other villagers draw similarities to popular comic book characters.

Acquiring specific residents is not a simple task, and requires some work from players. One of the easiest ways is to buy an Animal Crossing Amiibo card. These cards can be scanned in-game, and essentially invite villagers to visit your island and see if it is fit to their liking. This also brings about certain requirements that some villagers have before moving in, which is yet another step players may have to take to secure a character.

Players can also try for random encounters through exploring uninhabited islands via Nook Miles Tickets, or through their Animal Crossing island’s campsite. This process is less of a surefire way to find a particular villager, but will not cost players any extra money. The process of recruiting villagers is a give and take between time and money, and players will have to decide how much their time is worth when recruiting villagers.

Kid Cat – The First Animal Crossing Hero

Kid Cat is a jock-style cat villager, and is number one in the series of superhero-themed Animal Crossing characters. He enjoys fitness and sports and may request a superhero base in his home. Kid Cat may also compete with the player in fishing and bug-catching competitions.

Mira – The Animal Crossing Bold & Brave

Mira is a sisterly rabbit villager who dons a mask and stylish, superhero-esque dress. She will give players fighting tips on how to overcome foes in combat and is determined to help those in need.

Agent S – Animal Crossing’s Peppy Sidekick

A hero always needs a sidekick and that is where Agent S comes in. She is a peppy squirrel villager who is number two in the superhero Animal Crossing villager series and is quick to excite and easy to befriend. She will request a superhero training area in her home and is determined to save the world at all costs.

Big Top – The Animal Crossing Villain

Big Top is third in the superhero-themed villagers line and is often considered the villain of the series. Despite his lazy personality, his villainry is often attributed to his catchphrase, “World domination!” Despite his concerning catchphrase, Big Top is still as friendly as any other villager.

Rocket – Animal Crossing’s Friendly Pink Gorilla

Next in the series of superhero-themed villagers is Rocket, a sisterly gorilla with a pink helmet and matching suit. She is easily befriended and will offer medicine if Animal Crossing players get stung by wasps. She will request a superhero hideout in her home to become a permanent resident.

Stinky – Animal Crossing’s Underdog Hero

Although Stinky is not one of the explicit superhero-themed villagers, his hobby for professional wrestling, fitness, and propensity to wear a mask may still appeal to comic book fans. He is a jock of a cat, who is excitable yet dense, and will challenge players to push themselves.

If players are unable to secure any of these particular villagers, never fear, there are still ways to live out the comic book lifestyle in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Not only do the Able Sisters sell a variety of unique super-suits, but the community has also designed a plethora of custom outfits ranging from Iron Man’s suit to Wonder Woman’s golden armor. Fans have also lovingly recreated the Bat Cave or Avengers Tower, and have posted online tutorials for others to follow along with.
