Animal Kingdom is a riveting TNT series that has all die-hard fans anxiously awaiting new episodes. With so many dynamic characters, there is certainly enough drama to go around – whether it’s between family or strangers or anything in between. Of course, the Cody family is not exactly a group that anyone wants to mess with.

This show is filled with so many different and deep characters, but they’re all also pretty broken – and dangerous. While fans probably wouldn’t want to get on the bad side of any of them, there are definitely some that are far scarier than others. Here are the 10 most dangerous characters from the series, ranked.

10 Frankie

Frankie isn’t really a physically dangerous person, but she’s definitely manipulative and conniving. Out of the ten most dangerous characters on the list, fans would definitely take their chances with Frankie.

However, this bombshell steals from billionaires, and she has all the men in her life wrapped around her finger. For these reasons, she’s dangerous, because she’s a deceptive genius.

9 Deran Cody

Every viewer of the show has definitely seen Deran kill and stand up for himself, but his dangerous behavior only appears when it’s a matter of survival. He will go to extremes, but he isn’t willing to just for kicks.

Plus, Deran likes to stay out of things to the best that he can. If Deran is crossed, he can get his hands dirty, but otherwise Deran remains pretty level-headed.

8 Craig Cody

Out of the characters on this list, Craig is probably the one that all viewers would choose last to go up against in a physical fight. However, Craig has gotten smarter and more patient as the series progresses.

Like Deran, he’ll do anything to protect those he cares about, but he isn’t dangerous in the sense of manipulation or for the sake of hurting others. Of course, he’s shown he can be a pretty scary guy.

7 Barry ‘Baz’ Blackwell

Baz is more dangerous than the previous because he really only cares about himself. He will fight and manipulate and lie to keep himself above water, which means he’ll do anything to undermine anyone – even his loved ones.

This character had a master plan to take down Smurf and the Cody family, and his intentions were seriously dangerous. However, he’s low down on this list because clearly, he wasn’t enough to succeed.

6 Marco (& Lucy)

Marco and Lucy are brother and sister, and it’s clear they have their heads in the game of robbery and manipulation. These two are definitely smarter than Baz, which makes them far more dangerous.

Lucy has the nerve to confront Smurf about her hand in Baz’s murder, and that’s certainly enough to prove she’s as dangerous as they come. These two have backbones, and they’re also clever and wise.

5 Mia Trujillo

Mia is so far up this list because she throws everything up against the wall. She seduces, manipulates, and lies to get what she wants. Like Baz, she’s selfish, so she has nothing to lose except for her own success.

Fans have seen her at her worst, and she’s certainly not someone that any viewer would like to be on the wrong side of. However, she met her match with J, who clearly put her in her place.

4 Pedro ‘Pete’ Trujillo

If there’s any snake in this mix that doesn’t outwardly seem dangerous, it’s definitely Pete. Mia thought she was smarter than her uncle, but he proved to her that that is certainly not true.

The fact that Pete allowed J to murder his own niece because he thought it was ‘right’ says enough about his danger. He’s sly, but he’s honorable, and there’s no way anyone should want to cross him.

3 Joshua ‘J’ Cody

J and Smurf are similar when it comes to their dangerous personalities. They both are seldom physically violent, but they use their wisdom to immense degrees – that is far more dangerous than any punch.

Of course, fans have also seen J murder a woman on a boat, and shoot his girlfriend point blank. However, he’s dangerous mainly because he has so much to gain – and nothing to lose – and he’s as smart as they come.

2 Janine ‘Smurf’ Cody

There’s no denying that Smurf is the cruelest on this list, and she might even just be the most selfish. Sure, fans actually may have pitied her when she met her fate at the end of the end of season four, but she also had it coming.

Smurf is the master manipulator, and she’s willing to send anyone out to do her dirty work. She killed her adopted son, and that’s enough of a reason to prove she deserves to be the second most dangerous character on the show.

1 Andrew ‘Pope’ Cody

As the series goes on, it might seem like Pope has matured and gotten a handle on his life, and these things actually do make him less dangerous. However, Pope takes the cake because he is far from selfish.

He has no survival instinct – he only wants to hurt and protect. So, he’s willing to risk everything for justice and his loved ones, and that makes him an incredibly dangerous person.
