Kat Dennings posts a throwback photo to honor her friend and Charlie Bartlett co-star Anton Yelchin. Dennings, who plays astrophysicist Darcy Lewis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reprises the role in WandaVision to work alongside S.W.O.R.D. in an effort to neutralize Wanda Maximoff. It’s the first time Dennings appeared in the MCU since 2013’s Thor: The Dark World. Outside the franchise, Dennings is most famously known for her starring role as Max Black in the CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls. She has also appeared in major films such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.

Yelchin made his film acting debut in 2000 with A Man Is Mostly Water, directed by Fred Parnes. The celebrated actor would later be known for his role of Pavel Chekov in 2009’s Star Trek and 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness, both directed by J.J. Abrams. Yelchin also took on the part of Kyle Reese in 2009’s Terminator Salvation. In 2007, however, he worked with Dennings on Charlie Bartlett, where the pair forge an onscreen romance as Yelchin embodies the titular character opposite Dennings’ role of the rebellious Susan Gardner.

In a recent post to Twitter, Dennings shared a throwback photo in a heartfelt tribute and remembrance of her friend and co-star. The black and white photo captures Dennings admiringly staring at a funny-faced Yelchin. It showcases the pair’s authentic friendship. Check out the photo below:

In June 2016, Yelchin’s life was cut short after a tragic accident at his home in Studio City, Los Angeles. In light of Yelchin’s recent birthday on March 11, Dennings was joined by a plethora of others paying tribute to the late performer. Well wishes, remembrances, and tributes came pouring in from admirers across various other social media platforms to support and honor the beloved actor. This has happened often in the years since his death. Star Trek: Discovery put together a special tribute for Yelchin back in 2020, and a documentary called Love, Antosha previously premiered at Sundance to recognize what would have been Yelchin’s 30th birthday.

Although it has been some time since the tragic loss of Yelchin, it never appears to get any easier, especially for those who were directly in his inner circle. However, as sad as it may be, the heartfelt tributes and warm messages of remembrance help to ensure Yelchin’s legacy lives on. Photos like the one recently shared by the actor’s Charlie Bartlett co-star serve as an important reminder that life is fun and should be celebrated. However, they also prove that every little moment matters. Yelchin lives on in hearts, minds, and through his distinguished work in the entertainment industry.
