Apple TV+’s Servant: All The Main Characters, Ranked By Likability

One of the best Apple TV+ original series to date is Servant. It’s warped, twisted, and leaves fans curious about what is really going on after every episode and season. So much so, in fact, that as fans prepare for the already confirmed third season, crazy Reddit theories abound as to how it will end and what secrets will be revealed.

Every character is actually kind of annoying in their own way, though some are more likable than others. Meanwhile, others aren’t likable at all. It all depends on whose side a viewer is on, and what they truly believe. Nonetheless, every character has good and bad traits.

10 Aunt Josephine

She’s not necessarily a main character, only appearing for a brief period in a handful of episodes. Still, Aunt Josephine played a pivotal role in the second season finale. And while she believed she was doing good work and saving lost souls or troubled people as part of her cult, it’s clear that she was also violent and disturbed.

Not only was she prepared to murder Leanne in an effort to save her, but even stabbed herself multiple times in the leg with such force that it’s a wonder she was able to walk, much less was still alive. She was by far the most deplorable character in the series.

9 Uncle George

There’s little to like about Uncle George aside from the fact that he seemed to have good intentions even if his methods didn’t quite make sense and his actions were oppressive. He was keeping Leanne captive against her will, which instantly makes him unlikeable.

But then his weird habits, including bad hygiene, animalistic behavior, and odd quirks were more so disturbing than endearing.

8 Frank Pearce

Fans don’t get to see much of Frank, Dorothy and Julian’s mother, but it’s instantly obvious that he is at the root of much of Julian’s insecurities and his desire to drink too much and take drugs. Frank seems to favor Dorothy as his favorite child, fawning over her at every turn. This also explains why he was on his side with Sean in protecting Dorothy from the truth about Jericho.

He seems uptight and judgmental and as though he was the type of father who the kids could never really be themselves around. The ditzy girlfriend who was half his age also painted him as a womanizer who thought highly of himself and flaunted his money.

7 Dorothy Turner

Regardless of how strange and delusional she might be, there’s a part of Dorothy that is difficult not to relate to. Any parent knows how strong the bond is with a child and anyone who has ever lost someone close to them can empathize with the grieving process.

She’s in obvious pain and thus every one of her actions, no matter how frantic or ridiculous, makes sense in her mind. And thus, fans can’t help but root for her to win in the end and hope that there will be a signature “Shyamalan twist” that explains her odd behavior.

6 Julian Pearce

Even though he comes across as arrogant, rude, and unrefined, despite the tuxedos and penchant for expensive wine (he is rarely seen without a glass), there’s something endearing about Julian. Even with how he acts, there is nothing he wouldn’t do for his little sister.

Is this, however, because of the guilt he feels for having abandoned her when she needed him when Sean was away during the week that Jericho died? That’s unclear. Nonetheless, despite being a troubled soul, things always seem to get interesting when Julian enters the room.

5 Sean Turner

Sean is, in some ways, like the everyman, the most relatable character on the show. He just seems like a professional and passionate chef with a successful career and a wife who yearns to have a family and some semblance of normalcy in his life.

But he has layers and sometimes does odd things that make viewers wonder if he’s just as damaged as Dorothy but just does a better job at hiding it.

4 Roscoe

Roscoe was a hired hand so he was only helping out because it was a job and he was getting paid. But it was tough not to feel bad for him when he got caught up with the situation, seemingly abducted and brainwashed by the cult.

He seemed like a genuine person with a family just trying to make an honest living. It was difficult to dislike him since anything he did that could be considered wrong, like help keep the Turners out of the house so George could do what he needed to do inside, was apparently out of his power.

3 Natalie Gorman

Natalie was a calming force on the series, someone who not only helped keep Julian grounded and away from drugs, but also tried to help Sean and mostly Dorothy through their grief.

She was sweet, kind, and fully aware of the deception, constantly trying to convince Julian and Sean that they needed to do right by Dorothy and help her grieve properly. She seemingly disappeared by the end, though it’s unclear whether Julian cut ties with her or if she left because she couldn’t deal with the stress anymore. It’s possible that her character could be part of a typical “Shyamalan twist,” which has been evident in all of his movies dating back to the ’80s.

2 Leanne Grayson

Oddly, while Leanne is one of the most controversial characters in the series, not to mention the most mysterious, it’s difficult not to like her. She appears to want to do the right thing but is caught up in her beliefs based on the cult and what she truly thinks she should do. She may very well rank up there as one of Shyamalan’s best-written characters.

She is young, impressionable, lost, and damaged from her traumatizing upbringing. Despite everything Leanne has done wrong, she always steps up to the plate when she is needed, like when she saved Julian’s life, trying to help Sean and Dorothy, and even, in the end, bringing “Jericho” back. Deep down, all she really wanted was to be part of a real family and to find people who cared about her.

1 Tobe

Poor Tobe just seems to keep getting caught in the Turners’ messes. He’s just an employee yet he gets inadvertently involved in the family drama at every turn. It doesn’t help that he developed a crush on Leanne.

Of all the characters, however, he is the most likable and level-headed, even though he’s also easy to manipulate. He just wants to work, keep his job, and stay in Sean’s good graces.
