Locket Widget is one of the trendiest iPhone apps of 2022, but if you’re getting a little bored of it, there are a few other apps like Locket Widget that may be worth a look. Since its launch in January 2022, Locket has stood out as one of the most original iPhone apps of the year. Why? The premise of the app is pretty unique. Download the app, share your account with other Locket friends, and add the widget. Now, when friends send you pictures on Locket, they appear right on your iPhone home screen!

As much fun as Locket can be, however, the effect can also wear off after a little while. Sending photos to friends’ home screens is fun, but that’s the extent of what the app is capable of. For fans of the Locket experience looking for something more, these apps like Locket Widget could be worth a look.

For people who like the concept of Locket but wish there was more to it, Ekko could be a perfect alternative. On the surface, Ekko is almost identical to Locket. Users download the app, add friends, and then send photos to each other’s Ekko widget. However, Ekko adds a few extra features not found with Locket. Ekko lets users create different albums in the app and supports likes/comments to make sharing feel more engaged. There’s also a ‘gift-wrapped’ feature where new pictures can be sent in a virtual envelope that users have to open before seeing the image. It’s not quite as simple as Locket, but the added functionality of Ekko is really intriguing.

More Apps Like Locket Widget

But pictures aren’t the only things you can send to friends’ home screens. Another app like Locket Widget that’s become quite popular is NoteIt. Once again, the concept isn’t dissimilar from Locket: Download NoteIt, add the widget, and share things on another person’s home screen. Instead of sharing photos, however, NoteIt users send drawings and handwritten notes to each other. There are a few different drawing tools available, including a pencil, highlighter, marker, ruler, and color selector. The best part? NoteIt is 100 percent free to download without any kind of in-app ads or subscriptions.

Last but certainly not least, there’s an app called Whiteboard. Whiteboard is essentially a mishmash of Locket and NoteIt in one application. Using the Whiteboard widget, users can send drawings, handwritten notes, photos, emoji, and premade backgrounds to other people’s home screens. Whiteboard also has some social media-like features, allowing you to DM friends and find other nearby users. The complexity of Whiteboard might be too much for some people, but if you want a lot to sink your teeth into, this is the app to download.
