Armie Hammer’s aunt is set to reveal family secrets in an upcoming limited documentary series. The actor and grandson of oil-tycoon Armand Hammer is not unfamiliar with controversy, whether it be his own or that of the familial kind. Earlier this year, Hammer pulled out of a number of high-profile projects after Vanity Fair released an in-depth expose of women accusing the actor of emotional abuse, manipulation, and violence in light of his divorce from Elizabth Chambers.

The docuseries is not Casey Hammer’s first foray into exposing her estranged family. The granddaughter of Armand Hammer published Surviving my Birthright in 2015, which alleges that her father, Julian Hammer, sexually abused her and abused other members of the family. Julian also was charged with killing a man in his Los Angeles home in 1995, though the charges were dismissed. The March Vanity Fair article discussed a dark-side of the men in the Hammer family dating back five generations, but no one has more insight than the Home Depot kitchen designer, who has spoken repeatedly about the need to speak up as a survivor.

Deadline reports that Casey Hammer has signed an exclusive deal with Talos Films to develop a limited docuseries about the rise and fall of the Hammer family. Casey will provide never-before-seen personal archives and a first-hand account of how she was able to leave it all behind. The series will also feature accounts from other survivors who have recently come forward.

Talos Films, the production company behind Discovery+’s Queen of Meth and Disney+’s Family Reboot, is currently in the process of shopping the series to streamers and broadcasters. This is the first time a full history of the family will be presented in this manner, with stories of years past shown alongside present-day allegations. According to Talos Films co-founders, Elli Hakami and Julian P. Hobbsthe mini-series will focus on reputation, appearances, and the consequences of immense privilege. Fans of the HBO series may be interested to know that Hakami and Hobbs refer to the family as “Succession on steroids,” a seemingly impossible feat for anyone familiar with the actions of the Roy family.

There are many people who have been actively aware of the Armie Hammer controversies that have seemed to appear in overwhelming numbers since March of this year. For a period of time, it felt as though the stories about the Call Me by Your Name actor wouldn’t stop even if readers wanted them to, and the limited documentary confirms there won’t be a break from the onslaught anytime soon. As rumors continue to swirl as to what will be revealed about Hammer next, interested audiences will have to wait for Casey Hammer to tell her story in full.
