The one thing that makes the Green Arrow stand out from other DC heroes is definitely his weapon of choice and how good he is at using it. Oliver Queen may very well be the Arrowverse’s best archer but he certainly isn’t its only one.

While it doesn’t make Oliver any less unique or interesting as a character, it is interesting to note just how many characters have appeared that share his particular skill set, even if they don’t share his proficiency. The fact that the Arrowverse has introduced so many marksmen all while making them all feel like distinct characters is an impressive feat in itself. So, with that being said, here is every archer that exists in the Arrowverse.

15 Huntress

Helena Bertinelli aka The Huntress, a codename given to her by Quentin Lance, is unlike most of the other characters on this list seeing as she is the only one to primarily use a crossbow as her weapon of choice, mostly on account of her lack of training with a recurve bow.

Her unpredictability makes her a threat to even more skilled opponents such as Oliver Queen and Sara Lance.

14 Talia Al Ghul

Talia is the daughter of Ra’s al Ghul, the former leader of the League of Assasins, and sister of Nyssa Al Ghul. She has her own unit that she leads, similar to the League of Assasins, and had a large hand in training both in Yao Fei and Oliver Queen.

She later went on to train Adrian Chase and work alongside him in order to try and get revenge on Oliver for killing her father.

13 Emiko Queen

Emiko was introduced in season 7 as Oliver Queen’s long lost sister and the result of an affair that Robert Queen had with a woman named Kazumi Adachi.

She is the former leader of the terrorist organization, the Ninth Circle, and received her training at a young age from the terrorist financer, Dante while as a currier for the Bertinelli crime family.

12 Thea Queen

After being brought back from the brink of death using the Lazarus Pit following a fight with Ra’s Al Ghul which left her severely injured, she began working alongside her brother as a vigilante and using Oliver’s nickname for her, “Speedy” as her codename.

Prior to being trained by her father, Malcolm Merlyn, Thea was already a pretty skilled archer which is evidenced by the numerous trophies in her room.

11 Evelyn Sharpe

After initially facing off against Oliver while imitating Black Canary, Sharpe went on to join Team Arrow as one of the new recruits, going by the codename Artemis and replacing Thea Queen as the team’s second archer.

She remained a member of the team until she aligned herself with Adrian Chase after finding out that Oliver was formerly “The Hood” causing her to question his position as a hero.

10 Roy Harper

Roy started out as a street-savvy young man from the Glades, often resorting to stealing to get by. He eventually met Oliver Queen and started going by the moniker “Arsenal”, becoming Oliver’s first real sidekick in the field. As Oliver’s protégé, Roy was taught archery and became skilled over a short period of time.

While he isn’t as skilled as other characters like Oliver or Malcolm, he has shown himself to be capable of holding his own against characters like Nyssa Al Ghul.

9 John Diggle

While Diggle is usually associated with his role as Spartan, it is easy to forget when he held the mantle of the Green Arrow during the FBI’s investigation of Oliver.

While his skill level is nowhere near that of Oliver’s, he is as proficient enough with a bow to be able to use it successfully during combat.

8 Yao Fei

Yao Fei Gulong was one of the first people Oliver met on the island of Lian Yu. He eventually went on to mentor Oliver for some time and served as the inspiration for his new identity as the Hood when he first arrives back in star city.

7 Shado

Shado was the daughter of Yao Fei Gulong and an ally of Oliver and Slade Wilson while they were all on Lian Yu. She was the one who first taught Oliver archery after being brought to the island by Edward Fyers as leverage against her father in order to make Yao Fei join Fyers’ cause.

She was trained by her father from a young age which she later reveals was because he had wanted a son.

6 Mia Smoak

Mia Smoak is the daughter of Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak. In her youth, she was trained by Nyssa Al Ghul due to her father’s absence on account of his death. She felt resentment towards her father for abandoning her which she later understood after getting to meet him during the Crisis event.

Post-Crisis, after having her memories restored, she has continued in footsteps of her father by operating as the Green Arrow of 2040 alongside Laurel Lance (from Earth 2) aka the Black Siren and a time-displaced, Dinah Drake aka Black Canary.

5 Prometheus

Like Oliver, Adrian was trained by Talia Al Ghul putting him on equal terms with his rival during their numerous fights.

4 Cupid

Carrie Cutter started off as a former police officer and S.W.A.T. member of the Starling City Police Department.  After being saved by Oliver during Slade Wilson’s attack on the city, Cutter developed an obsession with the Arrow.

This obsession resulted in her training in archery and then killing and attacking people using heart-shaped arrows in attempts to get his attention, eventually landing her in ARGUS protection and a spot on Amanda Waller’s suicide squad.

3 Nyssa Al Ghul

Nyssa is the daughter of Ra’s Al Ghul and sister of Talia Al Ghul. She, like her sister, has had years of League training as a result of growing up on Nanda Parbat.

She was the last leader of the League of Assasins and is the only living person that has held the title. She was responsible for training both Mia Queen and Sarah Lance.

2 Malcolm Merlyn

Malcolm Merlyn aka the Dark Archer was the show’s first main villain for season one and the first major threat Oliver went up against.

He has proven himself to be a formidable threat time and time again with years of training as a member of both The Hidden and the League of Assassins, the latter of which he eventually went on to lead.

1 Oliver Queen

Despite not being the first of the names on this list to pick up a bow, he is certainly the most prominent one. He is undoubtedly the best, even surpassing those who had a hand in training him with his abilities. He paved the way for others like Roy, Evelyn, and his daughter, Mia.

Over 10 years, Oliver has been honing his abilities and has taken on and bested threats like the Reverse Flash and the Anti-Monitor’s forces. The impact he was able to have on many for years to come already makes him the most important archer of them all.
