A breathtaking challenge run of Assassin’s Creed Rogue sees an exceptionally skilled player complete the game without taking any damage. The historical fiction franchise’s 2014 installment notably offers an opposing perspective to the rest of the series, with players taking the role of Templar enforcer Shay Patrick Cormac. A talented fan recently completed a no-damage run of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and its successor Assassin’s Creed Rogue has now been conquered as well.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue released in November 2014 alongside Assassin’s Creed Unity, with the two games featuring a connected story but wildly different gameplay. While Unity focused on franchise staples like parkour, stealth and an urban historical setting, Rogue serves as a successor to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The title emphasizes naval combat, with players gradually upgrading their ship as they sail across the Atlantic Ocean and explore a recreation of mid-1750’s America. The dense Mohawk Valley can also be navigated, thanks to the small size of Cormac’s ship the Morrigan, adding environmental variety. Assassin’s Creed‘s signature historical landmarks also make a return in the form of locations such as Lisbon, the Palace of Versailles and New York City.

Following up their no-damage run of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, YouTuber Hayete Bahadori recently completed a flawless playthrough of Assassin’s Creed Rogue. The 2014 title essentially acts as a shorter version of Black Flag, which made this no-damge run much more enjoyable according to a Reddit post from Hayete. Eight playthroughs, adding up to about 40 hours of playtime, were needed to finally finish the run without taking any damage outside of scripted sequences. One particular mission towards the end of the game apparently made the challenge run especially difficult, forcing the player to grind for resources in order to sufficiently upgrade their ship for combat.

Hayete Bahadori’s no-damage challenge runs look back at the history of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, while other fans look to the series’ future. Recent rumors suggest that the next entry in the historical science-fiction saga will adopt a live-service structure, but Ubisoft says Assassin’s Creed Infinity is not free-to-play. Leaks and rumors, which support Assassin’s Creed Infinity as the project’s title, claim that the next installment will take players to multiple different locations and time periods. Apparently new eras will be added to Infinity on a regular basis, but besides a vague acknowledgment from Ubisoft the game has not yet been officially announced.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue is a massive open-world title, which makes Hayete Bahadori’s no-damage run of the experience quite an impressive feat. Through nearly five hours of gameplay the skillful challenge-runner never receive a scratch of damage, dominating their enemies and breezing through every mission of all six Sequences. With Assassin’s Creed Unity next on the list, Bahadori seems determined to completely dominate every modern installment in Ubisoft’s iconic historical saga.
