Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Where to Find More Fabric (& What It’s For)

Like most RPGs, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla allows players to loot, craft, and upgrade their character’s equipment. Valhalla takes players to Viking society as Eivor, a warrior, leads their people in search of a new place to settle. Along the way, Eivor will need to complete odd jobs, hunt massive, Legendary creatures, raid monasteries and towns, and defeat bosses. As the fights get more difficult, Eivor’s equipment will need to improve. Players will need to gather enough materials to make these necessary upgrades, and one rare material they may need a lot of is Fabric.

Fabric can only be found from looting around the open world. It is most likely to be found in the smaller chests scattered around each location or in larger chests during Raids. Because it is so rare, players will often only find small quantities of Fabric at a time and should take any they see for later use. Fabric is used to upgrade everything from Eivor’s quiver to their clothing and is extremely valuable when players begin a new game. Here’s how to get more Fabric in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

Where to Find More Fabric in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla

Players will only be able to upgrade their quiver and rations pouch if they have enough Fabric, making it as valuable at the start of the game as ingots or Silver. Fabric is one of the few resources that has to be found; there is nowhere to purchase it.

Fabric will most often be found in smaller chests around the open world, particularly the ones noted on the map by small, dim orbs. Players will want to pay special attention to high-level regions rather than low-level ones to give themselves the best chances of finding Fabric, as it tends to spawn in these areas more frequently. The best areas to find Fabric will be anywhere Level 220 or above, including Hamtunscire, Wincestre, Glowecestrescire, and Snotinghamscire.

Though players may not quite be at the right level to complete quests in these areas, they can sneak in to loot chests and sneak out. They’ll want to try and avoid as many enemies as possible, however, to avoid being killed. Many players have reported more Fabric starting to drop as they hit Level 120 or so.

There has been some controversy about the way Fabric spawns in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. The game offers just enough for players to fully upgrade Eivor’s gear, including all apparel that requires Fabric. However, once all gear has been fully upgraded, no more Fabric will spawn in the world. Because one of the mysteries requires Fabric, players will have to decide whether they want to fully upgrade all their gear or forego one or two upgrades to complete the mystery. If players choose the upgrades over the quest, they are prevented from reaching 100% completion and being able to earn the Platinum Completionist All The Way Achievement/Trophy. Ubisoft appears to be aware of the issue, so players are hopeful this issue will be addressed in a patch.
