The PlayStation 5 exclusive 3D platformer, Astro’s Playroom, features a number of collectible artifacts hidden across the game. These artifacts are pieces of PlayStation hardware like consoles, controllers, and accessories from the console’s history. Artifacts act as incentives for the player to hunt for secrets, collect coins, and complete all the levels.

Astro’s Playroom is made to show off different aspects of the PlayStation 5, from graphical fidelity, to load times, to the DualSense’s new adaptive triggers and rumble. Along with displaying what’s new with PS5, the game also acts as a time capsule of PlayStation’s history. As the player collects the jigsaw pieces and the artifacts, the PlayStation Labo becomes a museum, showing off different hardware and accessories from the many generations of PlayStation.

Astro’s Playroom features four levels, each level containing four sections. Every section has two artifacts the player can collect, and completing a level will reward the player with one of the four previous PlayStation consoles. Additionally, ten artifacts can be collected from the gacha machine in the PlayStation Labo. In total, there are forty artifacts that can be collected. This guide will go over where all the artifacts are and how to get them.

Astro’s Playroom: Memory Meadow Artifacts

PlayStation Controller: In Astro’s Playroom’s Gusty Gateway, the player can ride on a spinning platform being blown by a cloud. To get the artifact, the player must jump from this platform to the grassy platform next to the cloud. Following the path to its end, the player will find large cords sticking out of the ground. When pulled out, the player will be given the PlayStation Controller.

PlayStation Mouse: In Gusty Gateway, a robot cloud will create moving cloud platforms. The player can jump on these clouds and ride them to three stone platforms on a wall. The player can use these platforms to get to the top of the wall. Turning to the right, the player must get to the top of the tallest platform (the one right next to the camera bot and Ico easter egg). On top will be large cords, which will give the player the PlayStation Mouse.

PlayStation Memory Card: In Fastlane Fields, the player will come across a fork in the road. The right path will be bumpy and muddy while the left path is indicated by a robot skull. Going down this dangerous path will lead to a golden capsule, giving the player the PlayStation Memory Card.

PlayStation Game Disc: In Fastlane Fields, the player will knock down a large bowling pin and jump across to the next platform. Going right, the player can roll onto a moving platform. Transferring to another moving platform, the player will be brought to a golden capsule. Running into it will give the player the PlayStation Game Disc.

PS One LCD Monitor: Near the beginning of Electrocloud, there will be a high-up platform with two robots sitting on the edge. The player must get on that platform by bouncing on a hidden trampoline. Moving forward, the player will be prompted to blow into the controller microphone. This will reveal more platforms for the player to jump across. After completing this platforming challenge, the cords at the end will give the player the PS One LCD Monitor.

PlayStation Multitap: At one of the checkpoints in Electrocloud, the player has two paths they can take. One path goes forward towards flying televisions, and another path goes left and has electric platforms. Going left and completing this platforming challenge will lead to cords that give the player the PlayStation Multitap.

DUALSHOCK Controller: In Bumper Broadway, the player will come across a side path marked with a robot skull. This is just like the path in Fastlane Fields, but with the added challenge of ice physics. Getting to the end of this path will reward the player with the DUALSHOCK Controller.

PocketStation: In Bumper Broadway, the player will come across a large bumper robot with two paths around it. The player must take the left path marked with a robot skull. Getting to the end of this dangerous path with bumpers will shoot the player to a track with a golden capsule containing the PocketStation.

Astro’s Playroom SSD Speedway Artifacts

Buzz Controller: In Astro’s Playroom’s Turbo Trail, the player will hop into a slingshot that gives Astro a paraglider. On the next island is a higher platform with large cords. This platform can only be reached with the slingshot. If the player aims the arrow in the middle of the first ring of coins, they will have enough height to land on the platform with the cords, so long as the player holds the controller level or tilted back a bit. If the player dips the paraglider forward, they will lose their height. Landing on the platform and pulling the cords will give the player the Buzz Controller.

DUALSHOCK 2 Controller: In Turbo Trail, behind the rocket are stacked boxes. Knocking them out of the way will reveal large cords. Pulling on the cords will give the player the DUALSHOCK 2 Controller.

This will blow up the wall, revealing a golden capsule, giving the player the PS2 Multitap.

PS2 Memory Card: In Caching Caves, the player can take a secret path to the right of a cluster of “plants” with blue X’s. Maneuvering past the electric wall and floor, above the player will be a jigsaw piece to the right and two purple spider webs above. The player must break through it by flying into the web. Breaking through both will lead to a golden capsule, giving the player the PS2 Memory Card.

PS2 Game Disc: At a checkpoint in Deep Dataspace, there will be two diverging paths. The player must take the right path, down a thin path, and towards an electric enemy. The player will be prompted to blow into the microphone, which turns the pinwheel into a satellite. The player can use the satellite to cross to a floating platform. If the player follows the trail of coins on this platform, an asteroid will crash in front of the player. On the asteroid is a cord, which gives the player the PS2 Game Disc.

EyeToy Camera: In Deep Dataspace, the player will receive a toy minigun that can destroy glass. With the minigun, the player can backtrack down the silver airbag section where they can find a glass container with cords inside. Using the gun to destroy the glass container, the player can now pull out the cords and get the EyeToy Camera.

PlayStation 2 Slim: In Orbital Obstacles, near the entrance of the space station is a hole on the right wall. Flying into this room, the player will see the floor and ceiling are electric and move up and down. Maneuvering through these obstacles will lead to a golden capsule at the end, which gives the player the PlayStation 2 Slim.

SingStar Microphone: In Orbital Obstacles, the player will come across a room with electric enemies orbiting around the room. Taking the downward path will bring the player to a cold area. At the end is a large chunk of ice with dynamite at the top. Lighting the dynamite will blow up the ice chuck and give the player the SingStar Microphone.

The lid of the box will close and the player will need to charge jump again to break out and receive the PS Move Sharp Shooter.

PS Move Shooting Attachment: In Springy Spa, the player will come across a room filled with moving platforms. If the player jumps on one of the platforms moving around the dancing robots, they will see another platform in the upper right corner. In the cave are large cords that will give the player the PS Move Motion Controller.

PlayStation Vita Game Pack: Near the end of Renderforest, if the player turns left instead of going over the bridge, they will find some platforms.
