Since appearing in the anime’s first episode, Smith has become a fan-favorite character, and a cluster of cosplayers have attempted to capture his iconic look. The ten featured in this article put forward their best efforts in creating their own truly memorable takes on the character.

10 Mr.maeckes_cosplay

Mr.maeckes_cosplay does a great job of bringing to life the spirit of Erwin Smith in this impressive cosplay. The cosplayer strikes the perfect pose, adjusting their sleeve ever so slightly, and their stellar makeup/hair design plus an excellent outfit does the rest of the work.

Both the photography and the special effects were done by now-deleted Instagram user haneurii_vanira, who really does deserve full credit for their amazing effort.

The cosplayer proves they have more than enough fortitude and panache to play the part perfectly, and they capture Erwin’s signature hairstyle almost exactly as it’s seen in the anime and manga series.

Florida-based cosplayer 0nlyweirdo_ presents this unbelievable cosplay of Erwin donning his Survey Corps outfit and giving a two-finger salute. The cosplayer doesn’t forget to have every element of their cosplay reflect the character’s professional appearance and intelligent personality, right down to the debonair expression, and it’s for this reason that their take on the character is so accurate.

6 Jackallivander

With his cosplay of Erwin Smith, Jackallivander gives us a look at how the smart, sophisticated Erwin might approach a mirror selfie, all while staying surprisingly true to the character. Their cosplay itself is incredibly well-designed; the costume is full of impressive details, and the hair is styled just the way Erwin likes it.

The cosplayer’s self-assured glance to the camera seems to reflect both Erwin’s personality and their own, and it feels fully deserved, as they both have much to be proud of.

5 Oathkeeper92

Reddit user Oathkeeper92’s Erwin cosplay might seem dated, as it’s more than six years old, but it’s no less impressive given what they had to work with at the time.

While the cosplay easily masters the character’s overall look with no small degree of verve, the prop builds, which include a full set of Three Dimensional Maneuver Gear, as well as some swords and a flare gun, are even more impressive.

Visixnary.cos pulls off Erwin’s enigmatic look perfectly with this fanciful cosplay, which he accompanies with the character’s quote “when necessary, we must be willing to take big risks, and be prepared to lose everything.” He certainly took a big risk with the sheer amount of effort he went to in order to perfect this cosplay, but, needless to say, it seems to have paid off big-time.
