Babylon’s Fall is an upcoming online action game made from a collaboration between Square Enix and Platinum Games. The game received a substantial gameplay trailer at Square Enix’s E3 showcase, which was a relief for fans who have been waiting for news out of the project for quite a while. At the tail end of the trailer, Square Enix announced that Babylon’s Fall is recruiting players for upcoming closed beta tests.

To sign up for the Babylon’s Fall closed beta, players simply need to head to the game’s official site and scroll down until they see the option to log in with their Square Enix account. This gives players the opportunity to either login or sign up for an account, and then sign up for the beta. For now, the closed beta is only available on PS4, PS5, and PC, but more platforms may be added during later tests. Players have until July 5 to sign up for the closed beta.

If selected for the Babylon’s Fall beta, players will have access to all three of the testing phases. Each of these phases will be testing different aspects of the game, though Square Enix isn’t yet sharing exactly what each phase will entail. That said, it’s certainly worth noting that PlayStation users won’t be able to participate in the first phase of the beta, as it’s only available for Steam users. Phase two will add PS4 players, while phase three will finally bring PS5 players into the fold.

What Does The Babylon’s Fall Beta Entail

Currently, Square Enix doesn’t have a firm date for when the closed beta will start. All they’ve shared to this point is that the first phase will start sometime in late July. The dates for phases two and three are still listed as “to be determined,” though Square will likely share more details once the first phase begins. Hopefully, they’ll also give players more concrete details about the game’s full release as they move through the beta period.

It’s important that Square and Platinum Games get plenty of data from these tests. As revealed in the showcase, Babylon’s Fall will be a live service game. The co-op combat is meant to be played in teams of up to four, which means being prepared to handle an influx of players to the server on launch day is paramount to the game’s success. By taking the time to hold several closed beta tests, Babylon’s Fall should be able to get everything in order before release.
