The Bachelor alum Colton Underwood may be moving on to Netflix, but he still stays in touch with one ex-Bachelor Nation member — Chris Harrison. Colton and Chris have both had their scandals that fans aren’t happy with. Cassie Randolph, Colton’s ex-girlfriend, filed a restraining order against him for stalking her. Chris, who was the long-time host of the series, left the show after making racially insensitive comments during Matt James’ season. Rachael Kirkconnell, the winner of Matt’s season, attended an antebellum-themed party in college and fans weren’t happy when Chris defended her. Even though Chris doesn’t host the franchise anymore, he’s the only person Colton still talks to.

Colton recently came out as gay and now has a reality show on Netflix called, Coming Out Colton. In the show, he addresses the situation with Cassie, as well as his path to coming out. Prior to the release of his series, Colton posted an emotional message on Instagram. He wrote that he’s finally living life as who he’s supposed to be instead of hiding part of himself. He also hopes he can help other people who grew up in conservative households to be their authentic selves. As one of the only gay members of Bachelor Nation, it’s a big step for Colton to have his own show about coming out.

Colton opened up about why Chris is the only person he still talks to. “I don’t watch the show. I mean, the only person that I really talked to is Chris still. Chris and I stay in touch,” Colton told Us Weekly. “I will say this [since] Chris was about the only one from the franchise who really reached out and sort of let me know that he was there for me, [asking] if there’s anything he can do.” Other than Chris, Colton doesn’t keep in touch with any other Bachelor alums anymore. Chris was the only one from the franchise that was there for Colton at the time, even though he was dealing with his own problems, like leaving his long-time job.

While Colton has done a lot of reality TV, including all three of The Bachelor shows, he’s doing his show on his own terms. His family was worried about Colton going in front of the camera again because of how his mental health declined after being on The Bachelor. However, because of how “real and authentic” his Netflix show is, his family ended up being happy for him to film it. Colton also said that he’s in the “happiest and healthiest” place in his life, especially since he was in a such bad place mentally before he came out.

Even though Colton isn’t friends with anyone else in The Bachelor franchise, at least he’s still on good terms with Chris. Fans, understandably, have issues with both Colton and Chris, but maybe Colton’s new show will feature an apology for his actions. Either way, it will be interesting for fans to watch Colton’s coming out journey, especially since he was a lead on the show.
