Bachelor: Dean Unglert Reveals His Ex-GF Will Be Featured In Season 26

As The Bachelor season 26 approaches, Dean Unglert has revealed that his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Windey will be a contestant on the series. Known for his appearances on The Bachelorette and Bachelor In Paradise, Dean has been a familiar face in Bachelor Nation since his first stint in 2017. Carefree and formerly criticized for living out of his van, Dean is one of the most interesting cast members featured in the franchise.

He’s well-known for his BIP relationship with Caelynn Miller-Keyes, and Dean and Caelynn have remained a quirky, likable, yet questionable outcome of the summer series. While the two are still fairly unproblematic compared to other couples who met while filming the show, both have kept themselves involved in the series. They are remaining vocal and present when it comes to the latest franchise seasons. Via frequent interviews about the series, podcasts, and continued updates on their own relationship, the couple has managed to stay in touch with the rest of Bachelor Nation.

Recently, Cosmopolitan revealed that Dean shared the shocking news that his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Windey would be featured as a contestant on The Bachelor season 26. While he’s seemingly content in his relationship with Caelynn, this information is bound to get a lot of attention. Cailynn’s appearance will potentially dredge up old feelings and resentments. Dean explained that “[his] college girlfriend” is “great” and has the potential to either “win the show or be the next Bachelorette.” He seems to have the highest regard for Gabriela, whom he dated nearly a decade ago. Dean appears to support her in her dating endeavors and also raves about her ability to thrive on the series.

Thanks to her connection to Dean, who is a major figure in Bachelor Nation, and the fame she garnered as a Denver Broncos cheerleader, Gabriela has a strong advantage going into season 26. While many franchise fans will suspect that her inclusion in the series was plotted to cause drama (and add to the increasing differences between Dean and Caelynn), Dean is proving that he’s fine with it. He’s now committed to Caelynn but supportive of his ex, Dean is helping to welcome Gabriela to The Bachelor and giving her much-needed encouragement. While he wished her well, Dean did mention that Gabriela was “giving [him] crap” for auditioning for the series. He called her comments after their breakup, “silly.” 

Soon to appear on ABC, Clayton Echard (The Bachelor season 26’s leading man) will have plenty of surprises to share with fans. At the top of the list may be the fact that Dean’s ex will be on the series. As Clayton pursues love on The Bachelor, audiences can expect plenty of commentary from Dean, and this element should keep the intrigue coming. While a lot of details about The Bachelor season 26 haven’t been made public yet, it looks like there will be plenty of drama. This is good news since the previous season didn’t please everyone.
