Bachelor: Hilary Duff Praised By Fans For Shading Cassidy Timbrooks

Hilary Duff has gained The Bachelor fans’ stamp of approval after shading contestant Cassidy Timbrooks during a group date on the show’s latest episode. Hilary is best known for her role as the main character in the Disney Channel series Lizzie Mcguire and for the singing career she launched after the show’s finale. However, the star appeared in the most recent episode of the dating competition show to help host a children’s birthday party with Clayton and the show’s contestants. While the contestants were incredibly excited to see the former Disney actress, Hilary revealed she was a huge fan of the show and felt starstruck being at the mansion and meeting all the girls.

Cassidy was especially starstruck and told the singer that the first concert she ever attended was hers, and she had a poster with Hilary’s face on it. At first, the star seemed amused but was later unimpressed with Cassidy’s behavior on the group date. While the contestant was supposed to be building a child-sized dollhouse for the birthday party, she was sneaking off to the pool to make out with Clayton. Her fellow contestants were also not pleased that she’d abandoned them while they continued working on putting the party together. Hilary boldly revealed she believes Cassidy’s behavior will not make her any friends, and Cassidy doesn’t seem to care.

Fans watching at home also seemed to disapprove of Cassidy’s behavior and absolutely loved Hilary’s response. Twitter erupted in memes and tweets praising the star seeing through Cassidy’s act with user @steal_ya_4_asec writing, “My girl Lizzie knows how to spot 2022 Kate when she sees her.” The tweet is referencing Lizzie McGuire‘s main mean girl and Lizzie’s rival, Kate Saunders. Hilary gained a large following back in her Disney days and has seemingly maintained her fanbase as fans immediately supported her opinion of Cassidy.

In the episode, the contestant also unapologetically admitted to not liking kids and instead used the party as an opportunity to talk to her childhood idol. When it was time to bring out the birthday cake, which a fellow contestant baked, Cassidy clumsily dropped it on the grass without remorse. Her immature and careless behavior was another reason Hilary and fans of the show were irritated by her. Another user, @shabrielle_, responded to the actress’ comments about Cassidy saying, “Hilary Duff is onto this b*tch #Bachelor.“

It seems Hilary’s cameo on the show was a major success as she had all of The Bachelor fans on her side. While Cassidy may not have meant any harm and was simply doing what she believed she was on the show to do, connect with Clayton, her selfish behavior had even her childhood idol questioning her intentions. Cassidy did however make it past elimination, though she’d going to have to try a little harder if she wants Hilary’s stamp of approval. Hopefully, her efforts with Clayton will keep her on the show all the way to the end, but it still won’t change that fans are not on her side, at least for now.
