Bachelor In Paradise’sChris Randone is opening up about his recent split to Krystal Nielson. The two got married last year in paradise with Chris Harrison and Bachelor nation watching. They appeared to be another success story, but it sounds like busy schedules and a quick engagement led to the couple’s downfall. Keep reading to find out what else Randone had to say about why the perfect pair ended up calling it quits.

Last June, BIP couple Chris Randone and Krystal Nielson tied the knot in typical Bachelor-style. Chris Harrison officiated, the cast of the current season of BIP (as well as other former contestants) attended and the whole wedding was caught on camera. It seemed like the two were totally perfect for one another. Fast forward to February of this year and, well, we guess things aren’t always as good as they seem. The pair shocked fans by announcing that they were going their separate ways. So, what led to this sudden break up? Chris Randone is finally opening up about what went wrong and why the two couldn’t make it work.

In an exclusive interview with US Weekly, Randone got candid about his divorce to Krystal Nielson, stating he knew they were having issues. When asked if he was caught off guard by their sudden split, he revealed, “I would be lying if I said yes,” “Because there were definitely moments where there were either warning signs or there were just mixed signals.” Randone then goes on to explain one of the reasons why their relationship had issues was because how fast things moved, saying, “I think one of the biggest issues was me going from one show to the next, with really no time to process,” Adding, “Because I think after I got eliminated from [Becca Kufrin’s] season [of The Bachelorette], it was only a couple of weeks where I was back on another show. He then goes on to say, “I couldn’t process it or focus on that or just be able to address it because I had a relationship [and] I was engaged and then that turned into a marriage. And the entire time I abandoned myself, which I think led to just some issues within me as well.”

Randone also addressed why the two decided to separate first before filing for divorce. He said,“The separation would allow us to focus on ourselves and continue to grow and get better, which it definitely happened for me and I’m truly thankful, Adding, I think it’s safe to say that I didn’t think that it would be the end […] but I do realize that sometimes all good things come to an end, right?” He further says, “I feel like this marriage and this separation, and then now, you know, the divorce, I think it’s just a building block for the both of us, and a ladder to where we’re allowed to really take that experience, grow from it and take ourselves to the next level. And hopefully, you know, continue to just show love and compassion.”

Even though their marriage ended, it sounds like Chris Randone is moving on and that the two exes are in a good place. So, does this mean they’ll give love another shot on the show? We definitely have some time until the next BIP season comes around. Maybe they both will be ready to come back and give paradise another try.
