Alum of The Bachelorette andBachelor In Paradise Derek Peth recently married model Saffron Vadher, according to a TikTok posted on her account over the weekend. The two had reportedly been dating for two years.

A stand-up guy with a genuinely good heart, Derek seemed like the type who might be better served finding love outside the franchise. He premiered on JoJo’s season of The Bachelorette, where he was eliminated a couple weeks before hometowns, along with star of the franchise Wells Adams. He met Taylor Nolan on his first season of Bachelor In Paradise, but once that relationship fizzled, the commercial banker tried once more on Paradise, to no avail. Derek failed to find love with Demi Burnett and eventual lead Tayshia Adams, but he came out of that season as a fan favorite. Some even speculated he could be The Bachelor. Ultimately, that fate wasn’t in the cards for Derek, but it seems like it’s worked out for him.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Derek and Saffron, who began dating in June 2020, were recently married, according to a TikTok posted by Derek’s now-wife. The clip is five seconds and shows Derek’s hand on top of Saffron’s; she’s wearing her engagement ring and a gold wedding band and he’s wearing a silver wedding band. She then flips the camera over to Derek, who is smiling and looking very much in love. She grabs his face before the video cuts off.

While it’s always great to see contestants find love within the franchise, it’s arguably better to see contestants realize that the constant media attention on their romantic life isn’t always a positive thing so they find an even better relationship away from the show. Derek doesn’t post a lot on Instagram and has clearly enjoyed not trying to be in the spotlight since his last appearance on Paradise.

Derek has appeared on and hosted Bachelor podcasts in the past, but it looks like he’s put much of his involvement with the franchise in the past. He is vocal on Twitter about his progressive views, which is refreshing. Many in Bachelor Nation are afraid to be outspoken about politics because they’re afraid they may lose sponsors, but Derek clearly doesn’t care. The 35-year-old has been one of the good guys to come from a series that farts out less-than-stellar dudes on the regular and is in no rush to share with the world that he’s now a married man. Derek didn’t let his public heartbreak on The Bachelorette and Bachelor In Paradise bring him down, and that, in addition to a wedding, is always a cause worth celebrating.
