Bachelor in Paradise would be nothing without scandalous love triangles, and Tre Cooper is doing fans a solid by revealing the uncle Tahzjuan Hawkins dated. Tre first entered the Bachelor franchise through Katie Thurston’s season, but only lasted until week 5. Tahzjuan has a bit more experience in the franchise, but not much luck. She only made it through week 1 of Colton Underwood’s season before looking for a second chance on season 6 of BIP. Unfortunately, she only went on one date which included her gagging on the food and then making out with her date, and was sent home after one week.

While dating another contestant’s uncle is somewhat of a scandal, BIP has dealt with much worse in the past. Blake Horstmann had his Stagecoach love triangle born from relationships made before he got to the beach, which fans started to get sick of over time. There were also more serious scandals, like the sexual misconduct allegations during the summer 2017 season. Even though some couples end up together in the end, there are also toxic ones that spring up, like Jordan Kimball and Jenna Cooper in season 5. Considering previous BIP scandals, Tahzjuan kissing another Bachelor alum’s uncle isn’t too bad in the grand scheme of things.

On the BIP premiere, Tahzjuan revealed she went out with Tre’s Uncle Anthony before arriving in Mexico. She also compared the two’s skills after making out with Tre. Tre did Bachelor Nation a favor by tweeting out a picture of his uncle for all the fans to see. “Too busy w work rn to think of a clever way to do this, so I’m just gonna drop this here and dip. To those who care, meet Uncle Anthony,” Tre said (via Us Weekly). Tahzjuan also leaned into the joke by adding “went on a date with Tre’s Uncle” to her Instagram bio.

Tahzjuan made her mark in the season premiere by being scared of a bug. She (understandably) freaked out when a bug flew near her, and Tre saved her by swatting it away. However, Blake from the Stagecoach love triangle didn’t believe it was a real bug and took to Instagram Stories to voice his opinion. Tahzjuan fired back on her own Instagram, promising it was a real bug and not CGI. “Can we take a minute to discuss the bug? That was a real bug. There was no CGI. At all. I don’t freak out at weird, nonexistent things. Thanks Tre for helping me out. Blake, we gotta get you a new TV,” Tahzjuan said. She also tweeted that “@trecooper_ was the real MVP tonight.

While dating someone’s uncle before them could definitely be awkward, Tre and Tahzjuan seem to have taken it in stride. Both of them posting about it and making jokes on social media makes it even more fun for Bachelor in Paradise fans. Plus, there’s still a whole season to go, and that means there’s a whole lot of drama left.
