The Bachelorette‘s Tyler Cameron is back on the market but chances are he won’t be returning to Bachelor Nation anytime soon. With Bachelor in Paradise just beginning and another season of The Bachelorette already lined up for this fall, Bachelor Nation has been hoping to see the return of Tyler C. for season 26 of The Bachelor. But how likely is it that Tyler will return to our screens as the lead?

Without a clear timeline as to when the next lead and/or season of The Bachelor will be announced, fan theories have been spreading about who will take on the lead role. A number fans are hoping that Tyler C. will return to the franchise as the lead considering his recent break-up with Camila Kendra, his girlfriend of eight months. Following his time on the fifteenth season of The Bachelorette, Tyler quickly became a fan favorite who stood up for then lead Hannah Brown and emphasized the importance of consent. And although he didn’t get Hannah’s final rose, ABC did propose the idea of Tyler being The Bachelor for season 24, but ultimately decided against it after Tyler was seen with Gigi Hadid not long after the finale aired.

Along with ABC’s hesitations to name Tyler as The Bachelor, he has also expressed his reasonings as to why he hasn’t said yes to the role. During a recent interview on BroBible’s podcast, Endless Hustle, Tyler talked about his book, You Deserve Better, and was asked about how the show and the fanbase have changed his life. Tyler shared that he had joked about coming in second and being asked to be The Bachelor ahead of filming season 15, but ultimately said no because it wasn’t his world, but he is thankful for how supportive the fans have been of him.

As for why he almost said yes but decided against it, he explained, “I had some stuff going on at home with my dad was kind of sick again, and that was pushing me towards doing it honestly because I needed money in case something happened to him,” he said. “But, really my heart wasn’t in it. I wanted to see what the world has to offer me now.

And chances are, Tyler also won’t be returning to the franchise following his best friend and roommate, Matt James, and his historic and infamous season as The Bachelor. Considering what went down while Matt’s season aired and everything that has happened since, it’s hard to see Tyler coming back to the franchise. However, that doesn’t mean he is stepping away from ABC completely. There have been recent reports that the runner-up and almost dance minor at Wake Forest University, will be appearing on the newest season of Dancing With The Stars.
