The latest episode of The Bachelor: the women tell all allowed some of Peter Weber’s most notable contestants to come back together and defend their actions over the course of the season. Tammy Ly, however, didn’t succeed in clearing her name. In fact, her behavior during the women tell all episode only served to confirm that Tammy is the villain of Peter’s season.

Tammy was never an obvious front runner in the fight for Peter’s heart, but she was a fan-favorite at the start of the season. A successful woman who fought for what she wanted, Tammy was generally funny and interesting to watch. Her critical quips served the purpose of highlighting some of the other women’s behavior, but they were more amusing than malicious. Her function changed, however, as the season progressed. After comforting Kelsey Weier during a drunken rant one evening, Tammy then turned around and informed Peter that Kelsey had a serious problem with drinking and drugs. After that moment, Tammy made it her personal mission to report behavior that she deemed unacceptable to Peter. She later told Peter that contestant Mykenna Dorn was only on the show to build her brand and yelled at all the other women when they accused her of stirring up drama. Her comments were mean-spirited and nasty, and she showed no remorse for her actions when Peter finally sent her home.

While the Women Tell All is usually a chance to apologize for what you’ve done wrong and attempt to make amends, Tammy didn’t take that opportunity. When the issue of Kelsey’s drinking came up, Kelsey expressed that Tammy’s accusations were unfair and inaccurate. She said, “You claiming that I am emotionally unstable, [that I had a] mental breakdown and alcoholic tendencies – it is a strong accusation to make against somebody. By you putting that out there, now I am labeled as something that I’m not, and it’s also very rude to the people that do go through those diseases that may watch this show.” Tammy, however, refused to accept that her statements were over the top. Instead, she continued to claim that she was coming from a place of concern. She said, “I recognize you as a human being and it’s not okay for you to do that. I saw it was a red flag because it wasn’t the first time, so I brought it to Peter.” While she did apologize in some sense, she continued to claim that she did the right thing.

While Tammy’s conversation with Kelsey was frustrating, her conversation with Mykenna was just plain mean. Mykenna admitted that she knew Tammy didn’t like her and that she didn’t have a problem with that, but that Tammy’s treatment of her as the show progressed really affected her self-esteem. In the middle of Mykenna’s emotional speech, Tammy sarcastically asked her how long she rehearsed her statements and then accused her of spreading her legs and dancing like an idiot when the cameras were around.

On the whole, Tammy’s statements, particularly to Mykenna, were entirely uncalled for. Personally disliking another contestant doesn’t mean that you can treat them with blatant disrespect. There’s a difference between not liking someone and going out of your way to be rude to them. While the women tell all episode gave Tammy an opportunity to explain her behavior and apologize for causing other people pain, she chose to stand by her every statement and continue with her rude comments. While many of the women gave fans cause for concern this season, it’s obvious that Tammy is the true villain of season 24.
