This season on The Bachelorettetwo contestants have stood out for all the wrong reasons. Bennett Jordan and Noah Erb really got into it on last week’s episode. Here’s a breakdown of what Bennett said about Noah’s emotional intelligence.

Bennett Jordan started the season as a potential suitor for Clare Crawley, who quit the show after finding love with Dale Moss. The 36-year-old made it clear that he was proud of his Harvard education, despite failing miserably at a spelling and math test on a group date. Noah Erb entered the show when Tayshia became the bachelorette. The 25-year-old registered nurse has nothing in common with Bennett, except that Tayshia noticed him right away. The two have been locked in a petty competition, mostly coming from Bennett’s side. In the last episode, Bennett made passive-aggressive remarks towards Noah throughout a group date they were both on. Tayshia noticed, and decided to take them on a two-on-one date, where one of them would be eliminated at the end. The episode ended on a cliffhanger, but Reality Steve reported that Tayshia does indeed choose one of the men and send one home.

Before Tayshia arrived on the two-on-one date, Bennett presented Noah with a gift box. He wanted to give Noah a book about emotional intelligence, which Bennett said Noah lacks. Bennett specifically cited four points of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. He then said that he believes Noah is deficient in three of the four categories, being self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship management. Bennett said that he thinks Noah has spoken about men in the house behind their backs to Tayshia, while his own talks with Tayshia have been about, “me and my relationship with her and that’s all that matters.” Bennett cited the four points of emotional intelligence as things that a woman would want in a husband and a father. While he may be correct on that, his presentation to Noah didn’t go over well with fans.

Bennett’s elitist attitude, especially toward Noah, hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans. Bachelor Nation was appalled at the way he talked down to Noah and other men in the house. He seems fake and entitled while insisting he’s not talking down to Noah and that he hasn’t always been wealthy. Bennett’s strange behavior on this two-on-one date has fans calling for him to be sent home, but Tayshia has definitely spent more time with Bennett than Noah. Her choice will be interesting to watch.
