Hannah Brown from The Bachelorette‘s brother Patrick Brown recently got engaged to her former fiancé Jed’s ex-girlfriend. During her time as the lead of the ABC spin-off, Hannah had several men vying for her heart, including Jed Wyatt. The pair instantly hit it off on night one, despite not receiving her first impression rose. As the season progressed, Hannah and Jed’s relationship grew, and she ultimately gave him her final rose.

The couple was engaged by the finale, however, the two split before they could make it to the After The Final Rose special that takes place at the end of every season. Hannah found out Jed was in a relationship while he was on the show and believed he was only there to further his career as a country singer. Jed denied those claims, insisting he truly loved her, but Hannah decided it was time to let go of that relationship. Now it seems the woman Jed was dating will be Hannah’s sister-in-law.

On December 19, Haley Stevens, Jed’s infamous ex, announced on Instagram that she was engaged to Hannah’s brother. Patrick got down on one knee in Mentone, Alabama, where the couple resides, in front of their families. The couple’s parents were present for the engagement, as well as Haley’s younger sister, Cassidy. However, Hannah was noticeably missing from her brother’s engagement photos. Instead of spending the weekend celebrating, Hannah was busy promoting her new memoir, God Bless This Mess.

Haley became well known after it was revealed she was in a relationship with Jed while he was competing for Hannah’s love on The Bachelorette. Jed was dating Haley for over four months when he left Nashville for Los Angeles to appear on Hannah’s season. Haley even spoke to PEOPLE back in June 2019 about her relationship with Jed and how they were together throughout his time on the show. Jed, who says producers forced a public split, allegedly told her he was only doing the show because it’s “a huge opportunity” for his career. Haley even claimed Jed told her he loved her right before he had to surrender his phone to the producers. Hannah ultimately found out about Jed’s girlfriend and immediately ended the engagement, which viewers saw on-screen. Haley also broke it off with the aspiring country singer.

Haley likely met Patrick through the Jed and Hannah scandal, and the pair clearly bonded over their connection to the former couple. Even though Hannah has yet to comment on the engagement, she has said in the past that she only wants her brother to be happy and hopes Haley is providing that happiness for him.
