Now that Katie Thurston is officially the upcoming lead of The Bachelorette (followed by Michelle Young in the fall), fans want to know everything they can about the season. Reality Steve revealed that the upcoming season will be filmed at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa. Since it will be another locked-down season, the location will play a big role, just like the La Quinta Inn for Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams’ season and Nemacolin for Matt James’ season. Here’s an inside look at what the Tamaya brings to the table.

For those who aren’t following the spoilers, it was a long wait to hear who the next Bachelorette would be. Now that Bachelor Nation knows that both Katie Thurston and Michelle Young are getting their own seasons of The Bachelorette, fans are ready to get things rolling. Interest in the new season is already brewing, and Reality Steve’s reveal of some of Katie’s men is just making the wait even harder. Fans won’t have to wait long, however – the new season of The Bachelorette begins filming this weekend. Katie and all her men are likely already at the Tamaya, waiting for their final negative COVID-19 test result among the mountains. It’s not a bad place to spend a quarantine.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Tamaya Resort is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It gave a lot of fans High School Musical 2 vibes, but alas, it’s not the same location where Troy and Gabriella summered. It does sport similar views of red rocks, and even has a bright green golf course with a scenic background. The resort is located on 550 acres of the Native American Santa Ana Pueblo, between the Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande River. Tamaya Resort pays homage to the Tamayame people, who have lived on the land for over 1,000 years. Guests (or Bachelor contestants) can learn about the Tamaya tribe through the resort’s cultural activities. The Tamaya boasts pueblo oven bread baking, jewelry making, and pottery classes led by a tribal member.

There will be no shortage of dates for Katie to indulge in. The resort has bike tours, hiking trails, a spa that uses local ingredients, hot air balloons, Jeep tours, and more. In fact, many of the activities sound similar to what Matt James and his cast members experienced at Nemacolin. One major difference will be the weather, as it will likely be warm enough to make use of the three pools, waterslide, and whirlpool on-site. The rooms incorporate traditional native designs and natural materials. There is a restaurant with views of the Sandia Mountains called Corn Maiden, which is sure to make an appearance during The Bachelorette.

While the Tamaya is part of the Hyatt franchise, it certainly has its own identity. The Tamaya Resort honors its location with its pueblo-style architecture and its focus on Native American tradition and culture. It offers a totally new look and feel for a Bachelor franchise that’s looking to shake things up. All in all, it’s a perfect location for Katie to fall in love.
