Kaitlyn Bristowe didn’t expect to be flying solo while hosting After The Final Rose following the finale of The Bachelorette, but Bachelor Nation applauded her for a job well done. Mere hours before the highly-anticipated live event, it was revealed that co-host Tayshia Adams was exposed to COVID-19 and, out of an abundance of caution, would not be appearing alongside Kaitlyn on the special episode. Though Kaitlyn is no stranger to live television having won Dancing With The Stars, this was her first time at the helm by herself. However, fans and loved ones alike expressed nothing but praise.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The dynamic duo of Kaitlyn and Tayshia, who both previously starred as leads of The Bachelorette, have so far co-hosted the seasons of Michelle Young and Katie Thurston. Their appointment came after longtime host Chris Harrison stepped down due to backlash from downplaying The Bachelor contestant Rachael Kirkconnell’s racially insensitive actions. Many viewers were instantly pleased with the lightheartedness that Kaitlyn and Tayshia brought to the show. On the premiere of Katie’s season, they slyly peeked through a window and munched on popcorn as they critiqued the men emerging from the limos. Also, rather than simply hosting, they served in a mentorship capacity for Katie and Michelle.

It was with a heavy heart (and a lot of nerves) that Kaitlyn had to run Tuesday night’s After The Final Rose without her partner in crime, but Bachelor Nation was largely in agreement that she did just fine. On Instagram, Kaitlyn’s fiancé and biggest cheerleader Jason Tartick shared a backstage photo with the caption, “Your first time live, without any room for error, in front of the world as a host and you absolutely CRUSHED it! So happy for you and for Michelle’s incredible journey! Pretty damn impressive!” Jason’s followers flooded the post with praise for Kaitlyn. Comments stated how she “killed it” and looked “so natural up there.” One fan said Kaitlyn is certainly worthy of filling Chris Harrison’s shoes. Another even mentioned how they love Tayshia, but it was “lowkey better with just one host.”

Ahead of The Bachelorette finale, Kaitlyn revealed the intense nerves she was feeling. As someone who’s admittedly prone to anxiety, it’s no surprise that finding out she’d be single-handedly hosting a live show in front of millions would be stress-inducing. But thanks to an inspiring self pep talk and a few mirror high-fives, she found the confidence to face her fear and be successful. On After The Final Rose, Kaitlyn enjoyed many memorable moments. Brandon Jones, who earned runner-up status to Michelle’s chosen fiancé Nayte Olukoya, was deeply touched by the photo Kaitlyn snapped of him embracing the sunset shortly after his breakup. As for upcoming The Bachelor lead Clayton Echard, he had fun reading aloud insulting tweets about him that Kaitlyn procured.

Clayton’s season is set to premiere on Jan. 3 with former The Bachelor Jesse Palmer stepping in as host. At this point, it’s unclear whether or not Kaitlyn and Tayshia will return for the next season of The Bachelorette, or if Jesse is Chris Harrison’s permanent replacement. Based on fan feedback, the franchise would be smart to bring back Kaitlyn and Tayshia. Not only are they likeable, they’re able to relate to the female lead on a deeper level. Hopefully, the next woman chosen to find love on national television will have this pair lurking in a nearby window and eating popcorn as she meets her suitors.
