Half of Michelle Young’s The Bachelorette season was filmed in Palm Springs, at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, California. Viewers saw Michelle start season 18 at the resort on October 19, along with her 30 suitors. Michelle was clearly excited to begin her journey and she’s hoping to find her husband by the end of the season.

On the first night, Michelle, who teased her season with an on-location photo, was not playing games. She sent suitor Ryan Fox home immediately after she noticed some red flags. He showed up at the resort in an ice cream truck and exited before the rose ceremony. He got the boot after Michelle was told that he had a binder of notes on how to impress her and avoid looking like a villain on the show. While she quickly put Ryan out of the running, Michelle remains optimistic about the men who made it past the first rose ceremony.

For this season of The Bachelorette, the elementary school teacher and basketball fan Michelle (whose season airs on Tuesdays) and her men are starting their journey at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa in Indian Wells. According to the Marriott website, the resort is located in the Coachella Valley and it’s described as a “true desert oasis in California.” The resort features oversized guestrooms and private balconies with scenic views, so it’s the ultimate romantic setting for The Bachelorette cast members. The resort also includes Cafe Biscotti, a coffee shop where Michelle and the guys likely boosted their energy while the season’s action was heating up. Large, comfortable beds and splendid desert vistas make this resort popular with tourists, and Michelle’s 30 bachelors probably loved it too.

Even though guest rooms are well-appointed, suites offer a lot more luxury. Each suite has a private dining area, a living room, and a bedroom. The resort offers a number of amenities, including a golf course on the property, a relaxing spa, a sandy beach pool, a tennis court, and more. Guest can grab dinner and drinks at the resort, which is home to the American restaurant, CAVA. The eatery offers stunning views of the scenic Santa Rosa Mountains. The resort also has a cocktail lounge called The Place, where guests can socialize while sipping on cocktails.
