It looks like Batman and Catwoman are finally tying the knot in a newly revealed piece of cover art by Clay Mann. The on-again-off-again relationship between the Dark Knight and Catwoman has been a long recurring plot point in several comics through the years. From their time exploring their relationship in the Hush story arc to them actually almost being married before ultimately ending it before the vows, their relationship has been a long-held interest among comic fans for decades. Now, it seems like they’re finally going to walk down the aisle…even though it takes place outside of the regular continuity.

The current Batman/Catwoman miniseries by writer Tom King has been a wild story to say the least. Chronicling the romance between Batman and Catwoman, the story has been exploring lost flames, the Joker trying to complicate things between the two and the life that they could live together after being married. It’s been a celebration of the romance between these two characters, and it’s all coming to a head in the final issue which features some stunning cover art.

Batman/Catwoman #12 features a gorgeously designed cover that’s sure to be the event of the year for comic fans. The issue has Batman as Bruce Wayne and Catwoman as Selina Kyle finally married in their groom and bride attire. This is a moment that comic fans have been waiting years for, and it’s finally here with Clay Mann’s amazing cover art. The use of lighting and color show that this has been something that’s been building up for years, and the payoff is absolutely astonishing. Writing “no more waiting” in his tweet, Mann clearly understands that his cover would be one for the ages, and it shows in the amount of detail that’s lovingly poured into every inch of this artwork.

Of course, it’s not just Bruce and Selina that are on the cover. Well, technically they are, but the added detail of the wedding attendees is what makes this cover art absolutely amazing. Surrounding the newlywed couple are multiple iterations of Batman and Catwoman throughout comic history. Featuring multiple outfits of varying colors and designs, this gives the cover itself a more celebratory feel than just seeing Bruce and Selina married could provide. According to Mann in a reply to his original tweet, he states this:

This cover doesn’t feature every version of Batman & Catwoman thru the years, but if I pulled it off, it does show everyone [Tom King] used in his run of Batman & Batman/Catwoman. Just sort of a thank you & hopefully encapsulates his work on these two in some way

The decision to make the cover art not just celebrate this iconic couple but also the writer that made it all possible is such a heartwarming tribute, and to cap off his legacy with the pairing of these two characters amongst multiple versions of Batman and Catwoman that King worked on is sure to bring a smile to the faces of comic fans everywhere.

The final issue of Batman/Catwoman with this cover is slated to hit local comic book stores on June 14, 2022. This can be considered as the official wedding invitation for comic book fans that should not be missed. Readers can RSVP at their local comic book stores to save a copy for pick up when it’s finally released. This new cover art by Clay Mann that features Batman and Catwoman finally getting married is absolutely astonishing, and it’s something that every reader will want to add to their cover art collection.
