Warning: contains a preview for Batman/Fortnite: Foundation #1!

The comic series Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point left readers with a cliffhanger, which DC will now be addressing in a new sequel one-shot. The worlds of Fortnite and Gotham are colliding once more in Batman/Fortnite: Foundation #1. A new villain will arrive in Gotham and it’s up to the Dark Knight to figure out what he’s doing there.

Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point placed Batman into the world of Epic Games’ battle royale video game, Fortnite. He was joined by Catwoman, Deathstroke, and Harley Quinn who all eventually returned to Gotham. While there his memory was lost, but now he’ll be on his home turf as the world of Fortnite finds its way into Gotham. The end of the series revealed the Batman Who Laughs talking with Fortnite’s Doctor Sloane and working with the Imagined Order. Now, the villain seems to be preparing for a return.

There seems to be a lot for DC – and Fortnite – fans to look forward to.

This issue will be releasing this month across multiple countries internationally. These include Argentina, Brazil, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Poland, and Spain. It will be 48-pages long and physical copies will include yet another code for in-game Fortnite exclusives. This time, readers will receive a Batman Who Laughs outfit and a Batman Who Laughs-themed Fortnite loading screen. Fortnite players who do not purchase the comic will also be able to purchase the Batman Who Laughs outfit within the in-game Item Shop on the day of release. If that wasn’t enough DC is also announcing a collaboration with Epic Games and Extra Butter NY – a clothing designer. Several DC x Fortnite hoodies and shirts will now be available for purchase online, which feature the Batman Who Laughs. This apparel is available internationally.

Batman’s adventure in the world of Fortnite seems to just be getting started as the partnership expands even further. The initial story was an intriguing blend of storytelling that broadened the lore of both worlds – as well as increasing the potential for DC’s multiverse. There were new original characters and a crossing of worlds that fans likely hadn’t expected. Now, things will come to a head as Batman’s villains join forces with Fortnite’s and cause trouble for the Dark Knight. Fans can experience DC’s latest crossover when Batman/Fortnite: The Foundation #1 releases October 26.
