Warner Bros. reveals new images from Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two, offering the first look at Katee Sackhoff’s villainous Poison Ivy. The latest entries into the DC Universe Animated Original Movies line are based on the iconic DC Comics storyline from Jeph Loeb and artist Tim Sale. The plot centers on Batman in his early crime-fighting days as he investigates a series of murders around Gotham City occurring on holidays.

The first animated film featured an ensemble cast led by Jensen Ackles as Batman, Naya Rivera as Catwoman, Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent, Billy Burke as Jim Gordon, Titus Welliver as Carmine Falcone, Troy Baker as The Joker, and David Dastmalchian as Calendar Man. The upcoming second part will see the additions of Sackhoff as Poison Ivy, Robin Atkin Downes as Scarecrow and Thomas Wayne, John DiMaggio as Mad Hatter, and Laila Berzins as Sofia Falcone. With just a month left until Part Two arrives, WB is building anticipation for the forthcoming animated conclusion.

On the heels of the first film’s release, Warner Bros. (via Collider) has released a set of new images for The Long Halloween Part Two. Included in the villains set to appear in the sequel is Sackhoff’s Poison Ivy. She was previously seen in the final moment of Part One as an associate to crime boss Carmine Falcone. Just a week under its belt, and The Long Halloween Part One has already proven to be a hit for WB, scoring highly positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. The comic storyline is one of the most iconic for The Dark Knight, namely in its use of some of Batman’s iconic rogues’ gallery, and the ending to the first film certainly teased a pulse-pounding future for the hero. However, though the Holiday Killer is Batman’s primary focus for fighting crime, the arrivals of Poison Ivy, the Mad Hatter, and the Scarecrow will undoubtedly prove problematic for the still-fresh hero.

Those familiar with the source material know what Ivy’s arrival in Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two will bring to the table, but for those who aren’t, it’s an exciting tease. With the powerful Katee Sackhoff bringing the villain to life, the stakes are sure to be high as she only adds to the chaos occurring in Gotham City. Only time will tell when Part Two arrives on digital platforms on July 27, followed by a Blu-ray and DVD release on August 10.
