Battlefield 2042 Player Improves Game’s UI Two Days After Early Release

One enterprising Battlefield 2042 player has taken it upon themselves to improve the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). The redesign they shared online has gotten rave reviews from players, who note that it would constitute a massive improvement to the upcoming military shooter game.

Battlefield 2042 is getting a lot more attention now that the game is only a few days ahead of its early access release. Players across the globe are eager to get their hands on the futuristic shooter, which will feature massive maps and lobbies, brand new game modes coming to Battlefield 2042, and the updated Specialists that will let players customize their loadouts with unique gadgets, equipment, and more. However, Battlefield 2042 has hit some snags ahead of its release, giving some fans pause as to whether the game would live up to the hype. Among the early issues were criticisms regarding the Battlefield 2042 UI and UX.

However, one industrious fan, Redditor ibbidibbidoo, has taken it upon themselves to improve some of the UI and UX that have been shown from Battlefield 2042. Ibbidibbidoo shared their designs on Reddit, including improvements to the design of the in-game scoreboard, the loadout screen, the kill-cam, added options for visual clarity like chromatic aberration, and even improvements to the mini-map. Many fans in the comments of the Reddit thread praised the improvements, noting that the existing UI doesn’t have simple features that ibbidibbidoo added, like the fire rate of the player’s weapon or the weapon attachments that are equipped.

Ahead of its launch, Battlefield 2042 has been criticized for its buggy and unpolished gameplay. Among the biggest issues that players had, though, were issues with the game’s menus and the interface. Reports of menus glitching and players’ data being corrupted have run rampant across the game’s beta. As a result, some players have seen their copies of Battlefield 2042 get an error code in the menus, preventing them from playing the game at all.

Despite the incredible amount of hype surrounding Battlefield 2042 and its upcoming release, technical issues have been a blight on the game’s launch. Although reviews have praised some of the new game modes that were added to Battlefield 2042, bugs and other glitches have highlighted the negatives. As a result, early reviews for Battlefield 2042 are mixed. While a day one patch could help remedy some of these issues, many FPS fans are hoping that Battlefield 2042‘s performance will not outweigh all the positive additions that DICE seems to have brought to its flagship property.

Battlefield 2042 will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 19, 2021.
