Battlefield 2042 includes the all-new Portal mode, which combines maps and player options from previous titles and allows players to create their own game modes. There are several match times and a large number of both official and community-designed variations of each match available in Portal. Players can choose to build their own game mode from scratch or play any of the already created matches.

Every game mode in Portal can be hosted privately, hosted publically, or joined if there’s an existing server for it. Matches are either Conquest, All-Out-Warfare, Team Deathmatch, Conquest Large, or Rush. Each game type has a unique set of rules and options as well as different maps that can be included in the game mode’s rotation.
