Netflix has had a mixed bag of reviews when it comes to their original content, including TV shows and movies. For every 5-10 poor movies, there is a Trial of The Chicago Seven which was a fantastic example of how well Netflix can tell stories. Similarly, for every 5-10 bad Netflix shows there is a Bridgerton.

Fans that love a twist ending will certainly have an enjoyable time watching Behind Her Eyes as they learn each character goes, or has gone, through their own individual trauma. With every episode, fans will feel themselves bouncing between hating and liking each of the characters depending on what is revealed about them, but in some cases there are characters that fans root for from beginning to end.

7 Rob

Played by Robert Aramayo, Rob was Adele’s friend in her psychiatric hospital when she was seeing David. Fans got glimpses of Rob throughout the show even though the main focus was on David, Adele, and Louise. Fans learned that Rob was also infatuated with David, so much so that, during an astral-projection experiment flashback, the audience learns that Rob went into Adele’s body to be with David, and then killed Adele who’s spirit was then in Rob’s body.

Rob wasn’t a very likable character from the beginning, with his only redeeming factor being that he cared for Adele during her time in the hospital. At the end of the series when the audience learns that he is inside Adele’s body and then goes into Louise’s, fans definitely hated Rob even more.

6 David

David was a very flawed character. Having cheated on Adele with Louise, he didn’t set himself up as a very likable character. As the episodes went on, fans discovered that David did have his reasons for not wanting to be with Adele but it was kept in the dark about what they were.

David then proceeded to alienate Louise and leave a supposedly struggling Adele on her own. Fans knew ‘Adele’ was up to no good, but again, being kept in the dark about what was truly going on, meant that they saw David as a struggling man trying to cope with an obsessive wife.

5 Sophie

Sophie, as Louise’s best friend, gave her many pieces of sound advice throughout the show such as telling her to get out of her current situation to avoid further complications with either David or Adele. Sophie also did not heavily judge Louise for getting involved with a married man in the first place.

As the show progressed, fans only saw a few glimpses of Sophie, the last of which being when Louise kicked her out of her apartment after a disagreement about Louise’s relationship with David and Adele. Sophie was only trying to do the right thing.

4 Ian

Fans hardly saw Ian throughout the show, as he was only in a few episodes, but the character had essentially no flaws apart from taking Adam away from Louise. When Ian came to the apartment he was nice to Adele and seemed like a great father to Adam.

Ian also knew that there was something different about Louise in the end but sadly just did not have enough suspicion to not let Adam go with Louise (Rob).

3 Adam

Adam, Louise’s innocent son was a gold star throughout the show, with leaving his mum to go to France being the only thing that didn’t sit right with fans, an act that was more Ian’s choice than his. Adam was incredibly worried when he could not wake Louise up and tried his very best to do so.

Fans didn’t see too much of Adam in the series, but they did see a bit more of him than his father, giving the audience slightly more time to connect with him. One of the smallest but most intense moments in the show was where Adam realized that Louise (now Rob) was not herself at the very end, leaving fans wondering what Adam’s fate would be.

2 Adele

It was only the final episode where fans learned that Adele was actually killed years before the show began. At the beginning, Adele was seen as an obsessive, horrible, manipulative person but when fans learned that she was actually Rob the whole time, fans instantly felt sorry for Adele who really loved David but was the victim of a selfish act of manipulation and murder.

This also meant that fans didn’t get to know Adele as much as the show had them believe. This opens the door for a potential flashback series about Adele’s earlier life. Is it likely that Netflix will go down this route? Perhaps not, but with the fans feeling sorry for Adele at the end of the show, there is certainly some interest for a story centered around her life before Behind Her Eyes.

1 Louise

Louise’s only flaw throughout the show was falling for a married man and caring for Adele. She even risked her own life to save ‘Adele’ (Rob) who had lied to her from episode 1. Was she perfect? No, she did cheat on Adele with David numerous times, but with David and Adele being so mysterious, it led her to want to find out more to supposedly save Adele from David.

The tragedy at the end of the series where Louise was left for dead by Rob, only made fans feel more sorry for Louise, especially knowing that she loved, cared for, and lost her son Adam.
