Meet Mary Anne, the wife of Captain Lee Rosbach from Below Deck. Mary Anne isn’t a main figure on the show, but she has popped in from time to time to visit or speak to her husband. Even though Lee is often away at sea, he and Mary Anne have managed to keep their marriage intact. Captain Lee has been working in the yachting industry for more than 40 years and has been a captain for more than two decades. While the couple may be spending most of their days apart, Mary Anne and Lee’s relationship has only grown stronger.

Viewers got to officially meet Mary Anne during season five of the Bravo series when she visited her husband on Valor. The crew got to see a side of Captain Lee they had never seen before when his wife paid to him on the yacht. He never seemed happier than when Mary Anne was with him. Captain Lee may love his job as the head honcho on the boat, but deep down, he misses his wife being by his side. No matter how long Lee is at sea, Mary Anne is always waiting for him at home in Florida.

So who is Mary Anne, wife to the infamous Captain Lee? She met the Captain more than four decades ago through mutual friends. During an episode of Below Deck, Mary Anne recounted the first time she laid eyes on her now-husband to the crew members. “My girlfriends knew him. We all went out one night, and I met Lee, and he doesn’t even remember meeting me. I made such a good impression,” she said with a laugh. However, she and Lee met up again a month later, and the mutual attraction was undeniable. “After the second time, that was it,” Lee recalled. During a confessional for the show, Lee even referred to his wife as his best friend. Mary Anne also shares five children with Captain Lee; four sons and one daughter, according to The List.

Two of their sons also worked in the yachting industry, just like their father. Sadly, the couple shared a recent tragedy after their son Josh passed away at 42-years-old following an opioid overdose. It was a tragic loss for Mary Anne and Lee, but the couple is learning to cope with the loss. Mary Anne has also always supportive of Lee and his want to be a captain. She supported him when he decided to leave his career as a restaurant owner and pursue his passion as a captain. Even though Lee is away from Mary Anne for several weeks on and off, the pair manage to keep a healthy relationship. Captain Lee believes the reason why their relationship is so successful is that they spend extended periods away from each other. “The old adage ‘absence makes the heart grow fonder is true,” he told Andy Cohen during an episode of WWHL.

Mary Anne has been a large part of Captain Lee’s life, and he couldn’t see it without her. She is a sweet, caring woman who loves her husband and is willing to support him through anything. Mary Anne and Captain Lee have built a foundation based on love and respect that kept their relationship intact. Even though the couple spends many weeks apart, the absence between them makes the times they are together all the sweeter. With season eight over, Mary Anne has more time to spend with Lee.
