If working on a yacht doesn’t pan out for Below Deck Mediterranean star Rob Westergaard, he can always go back to modeling.

The 30 year old joined season 5 of Below Deck Mediterranean and quickly found himself in a showmance with fellow yachtie Jess More. Their relationship has been wrought with drama, as one would expect when two people who just met are sleeping, working, and saying “I love you” after a few weeks together. Rob has also been in hot water recently for having a girl back home before the show — with no mention of a breakup — and ghosting Madison Stalker from Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

Rob’s icy blue eyes and defined features are quite striking, so fans were not surprised to learn that the South African used to model professionally. According to Rob’s bio on Bravo TV, the former deckhand spent nine years traveling the world as a model and working with prestigious fashion houses. A quick scroll through Rob’s Instagram account revealed quite a few professional shots of him and tags to brands like Liverpool Jeans and Sacoor Brothers, most from 2017. Rob also dabbled in runway work, posting a photo from a 2013 Vivienne Westwood show with the caption reading, “haha walking the @amfar show in New York in an awesome @viviennewestwood suit.” Check out the post for yourself below:

On the editorial side, Rob posted a spread from Esquire magazine, and he even landed the most coveted cover shoot of all — Vanity Fair. You would think that would be the best part, but wait for it — the shoot was with Taylor Swift. On July 6, 2017, he posted a photo of himself in a suit next to the popstar with the caption reading, “#tb to sitting in Paris with @taylorswift getting an opportunity to shoot with the legend @therealpeterlindbergh oh how time has flown. Sitting in Patagonia feeling humbled by such an amazing adventure life has been these last few years.” Andy Cohen must have been on his IG page too, because the Bravo producer called him Mr. Americana recently when Rob was a guest on Watch What Happens Live and pressed him about the Vanity Fair shoot. Rob acknowledged that the two had friendly banter. However, Rob said he was less excited about meeting Taylor than he was to work with photographer Peter Lindbergh. “My agent was like, ‘We have this opportunity for you to shoot with Peter Lindbergh,’ who was, like, the greatest fashion and editorial photographer ever. And they were like, ‘Listen, you’re going to shoot with someone famous.’ And I was like, ‘I don’t really care. I just want an image from Peter Lindbergh.’”

Rob has a strong 37k followers on Instagram thanks to the show, but he may be hanging up his stern lines for good. On September 25, Rob posted a rather dapper photo of himself in a Sacoor Brothers suit with the caption reading, “Every now and then I get dressed up for a living and this time was in an awesome suit! What do you guys think? Should I get back into this again? Any recommendations on agencies in the states?” Judging by his past work as a model, leaping back into that world should not be too hard.

Below Deck Med airs Mondays at 9 pm ET on Bravo.
