Below Deck Med producers are struggling to justify Hannah and Kiko’s firings. Numerous Bravo executives have had to back up the show after losing two fan favorites from the cast.

Evidently, fans are still upset that longtime yachtie Hannah Ferrier was let go from her chief stew position. They’re so upset, in fact, that many Bravo viewers are threatening to boycott the rest of the season. Hannah couldn’t have cared less that she was fired. While her spoiled attitude did not sit well with others, a small number of fans felt that Captain Sandy Yawn and Malia White were to blame. Unfortunately, these fans forget that the charter world has strict rules of its own, even if you are on a reality TV show.

Now, according to Reality Life With Kate Casey, executive producer Nadine Rajabi has spoken out about the firings aboard the yacht. While speaking to the host, Nadine revealed that after chef Hindrigo Kiko Lorran left, there was supposed to be a female chef that was set to take over, rather than Malia’s boyfriend, Tom Checketts.

Many fans felt that Kiko had been set up so they could get Tom on Below Deck Med. Bringing Tom in would produce better TV since there would be an actual couple on board, rather than Rob Westergaard and Jess More making out. The outrage among fans has also led to a lot of conspiracy theories about Christine Bugsy Drake being promoted to chief stew. According to the executive producer, they had two other chief stews, but they also feel through so the promotion was a last-minute decision. Even though producers of the show are meant to stay behind the scenes and unseen, Nadine has had to make the choice to speak out due to the drama the last episode caused. She said, “This was not a setup. I know it looked like it, I promise you it wasn’t.” As for poor Tom, he only planned to visit Malia, but after the crew was left with only a couple of hours to find a chef, he stepped in. Fans are enjoying watching Tom flip out from the lack of refined tastes, thanks to American charter guests.

As for Hannah, producers explained that the loss of Kiko was what did Hannah Ferrier in. Now that the air is clear, it’s possible that disgruntled fans can get over their issues and enjoy the rest of the charter season. As much as they may wish the show to be boycotted, there is no way the Bravo hit will be sailing into the sunset any time soon.
