Since Below Deck Sailing Yacht first aired in 2020, it has become one of the most dramatic shows from the franchise. Viewers were initially excited about a new series, a whole new crew, and a captain. While the first season didn’t grab the attention of viewers like season 2 did, fans did immediately take a liking to newbie Captain Glenn Shephard.

When season 2 was about to air, some fans were skeptical as the first season wasn’t as dramatic as other Below Deck franchises. However, season 2 offered some of the most dramatic moments in Below Deck history. There was that intense boat crash with Glenn, a love triangle that lasted the whole season, and another romance that ended with a baby.

Season 2 Love Triangle

At the beginning of season 2, first mate Gary King hooked up with his deckhand Sydney Zaruba after flirting all night during their crew day off (via Us Weekly). Gary was unsure if he should pursue Sydney as he also had feelings for third stew Alli Dore, who gave birth to her son. Sydney began to develop feelings for Gary and was hurt when he started to grow closer to Alli. By the end of the season, Alli and Gary were in a relationship, but it didn’t last long after they left Parsafill III. Gary admitted during the season 2 reunion that he had a girlfriend prior to the show, but admitted that their relationship was “complicated.”

Jenna & Adam’s Relationship

Cheif stew Jenna Macgillivray and Chef Adam Glick immediately hit it off after meeting on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 1. After admitting their feelings for one another, Jenna and Adam would sneakily share kisses in the galley and sometimes on deck. Throughout the season, their romance caused the pair to not only be at odds with each other but with the crew as well. Second stew Madison Stalker felt “excluded” by Jenna whenever she walked into the galley, and Jenna and Adam were focused on each other only. Madison even described her time working with Jenna on the sailing yacht as a “living hell.”

Jean-Luc & Dani’s Baby

In season 2, second stew Dani Soares and deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux had an immediate love connection after they kissed during one of their crew nights out. The pair were in a relationship throughout the season and even left the boat together. However, once they went their separate ways, Dani discovered that she was pregnant. Jean-Luc was unsure if he was the father of Dani’s baby and even asked her to take a paternity test. During the season 2 reunion, Dani was adamant that Jean-Luc was the father despite his concerns, but she held her tongue and didn’t speak badly of him. It is still unclear if Jean-Luc and Dani are on better terms now.

For almost two years now, Below Deck Sailing Yacht has given the viewers some of the most dramatic moments in the history of the franchise in such a short amount of time. It is safe to say fans are excited to see what wild moments will take place during season 3.
